Default My tour highlights

I don’t see a point in writing a review of all the shows that I saw on the tour, I’d just be repeating myself and I don’t have that much to say about most of the shows anyway. I thought that I’d rather write a list of my tour highlights if anyone’s interested.

My Tour Highlights in no particular order:
1. Meeting all the people again. It was great to get to spend almost a week with Thierry and Alja in Ireland and Holland especially – it was a right laugh!!! Hup Holland Hup! The Finnish Gang coming to Manchester – Jani, Late, Masa & co. We had a good time and especially queuing up for Manchcester playing Hide and Seek and footie. Meeting everyone again – Vallie must be one of the nicest people I’ve ever met! It was nice to finally meet Goose although he didn’t look at all like what we expected!!! Rebekka and Saskia, Inge, Fleur and Marijke, Kathryn and Birgit, Sabi & co, Donna… Kev, Carli, Christo and Jana – just a shame I couldn’t spend more time with you. And of course Tom and Taija!!! This really was the best part of the tour for me!

2.Meeting Hugh in Dublin and having a good chat with him. He was really nice.

3.Jon wearing black jeans and black vest. See text under my name

4.The shows themselves as a whole. Compared to Bounce tour this tour was so much more unpredictable – I enjoyed every single show. Even though the number of songs that were playind in every show was bigger than on Bounce tour the rest of the songs were in much wider circulation.

5.The realisation that Front Row isn’t everything – MK 2 was the best show I’ve ever been to in terms of having fun. We were at the very back of the pit with loads of space and were able to dance, jump, sing, shout, and take silly and funny photos of each other and just have a really really good time – not something I’ve ever done in a Bon Jovi show before. Like Taija said – F#ck The Front Row!

6.The fact that we found the “shoot” mode in the camera – just press the button and you get a serial shot. This is the main reason we took 1269 photos of the shows (95% of Jon)!!! Plus touristic and friend photos…..

7.Boys Are Back In Town!!!!

8.Living In Sin

9.Jon dedicating Have A Nice Day to his hay-fever in Coventry and to Wembley in MK1.

10.The whole Coventry show. I’ve never seen a “special” Bon Jovi show before, and to me this really was one of them. Jon really gave it his all and didn’t even accept the crowd’s sympathy for his illness. Points for that!

11.Ireland. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen – the coastline is magnificent!

12.Last Man Standing in MK2. For the whole tour I waited for Jon to sing LMS on stage – and in MK2 he finally did it!!! It didn’t matter that we weren’t at the front – this is how the song needs to be played!

13.Richie in MK1 – no matter what Lumpy says, I’m sure he was drunk – and he was merry

14.Daniel of Nickelback – or should I say Deacon? Both Taija and I got his drum stick, which were meant for us too!

15.Chad of Nickelback – he was very funny! He’s the type of person I’d love to spend a Friday night at a local pub with.

16.Ryan of Nickelback – possibly the most uncool guitar player I’ve ever seen! A non-guitarist with a non-name playing non-solos. I take it that all those Ryan-banners were tongue-in-cheek…. :P And to top it off, he really couldn’t throw a plectrum in the audience if his life dependent on it.

17.Ending the tour on a good note – on the way to the hotel we saw the band’s helicopter take off over the lake bathing in the light of the full moon…

18.Justin. We had a huge plastic tent rain cover whose name was Justin (Justin Case), and he was very useful in Holland. For the rest of the tour we just carried him around and he was just mostly in the way.

I'm sorry... I realise this isn't very interesting. It's bloody 28 degrees in the office and my brain's about to melt! I'll add actual SHOW highlights when I get my brain/memory working again.

Laura

I have to agree there, he was like a drunk uncle at christmas, but he was still awesome. How can he play a solo like he did at the end of IBTFY when he's drunk?! Legend!!

Im slowly realising this fact. For MK 1 I was a good 7-8 rows further back than for MK2 yet I had a much better view on night 1, plus the atmosphere around me was better. It was the same with Dusseldorf, I was about 8 rows back but preferred it.

Ok, you showed me the Jon-moving pictures But I do wanna see the friends photo's haha. I guess it's time to make a site again and put all those pictures online - I wanna see the funny pics of MK2 in the back of the pit :P

No, it is interesting! It's so much fun reading these kind of things as well. Reviews of concerts always look very alike so I'm not that bothered to do to those as well The activities around that is much more fun to write about hehe

This thread seems like a good enough one to ask what you and Hugh talked about heh.
