I think that falls in line with humanity and the downfall of intelligence during this past couple of decades. You put thousands of people in a room, chances are that 90% of them aren't gonna be very smart and plenty ignorant about any topic that falls outside of the little bubble they live in. I have seen Bon Jovi fans like you describe, but have also seen men and fans of plenty of other bands that are the same.

Can you quantify what 'many' means, so we can get an idea of the percentage of female Bon Jovi fans you have got to know enough to make a judgement on? I believe housewives are being stereotyped...not really on and a bit shallow in today's world

But, we don't know what Tidal is charging for tickets yet or did I miss it? Again, typically Runaway events are about 200-300 max. What is the capacity of these theaters? Doesn't that leave the rest of the tickets to give aways by bonjovi.com and whatever Tidal is going to hold?

Tidal is a streaming service. KSantaFe posted this back a number of pages.

Here's a link to Tidal's site:

http://tidal.com/us

I didn't see anything about a limit of any kind. Does anyone know if they only allow a certain number of viewers to watch a single event?

I don't think housewives are being stereotyped at all. I don't even think the Jovi fans that are referred to by that term, or as "soccer moms" (which I've also seen), are being maligned as having low intelligence.

When I see either term used in connection to Jovi fans, it's usually referring to that group of fans who seem to think that Jon can do no wrong, only ever speaks the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, and believes that he has never once been unfaithful - at least not after he said, "I'm no saint" - and who will pay whatever the price is to see Jon smile and shake his behind without any concern about whether the music is any good or not. (Because it's always wonderful; and if it isn't, then there must be some external reason because it couldn't possibly be Jon's fault!)

And from what I've seen, they get all up in arms if anyone else feels differently.

I've always assumed that the "housewife/soccer mom" label comes from their assumed age group as much as anything else, because they've followed the band for so long. Not because they're seen as stupid. Gullible, or blind followers, perhaps; but not unintelligent.

Richie has a similar group of followers, (although I don't recall them being referred to as housewives or soccer moms), which is why I stay away from both "Jon" and "Richie" fan pages. I don't think they're bad people but the blind idol worship and attendant bashing of the other side bugs me; as does the total unwillingness to consider that there's always more than one side to any story.

At any rate, that's just my 2 cents.

Default Runaway trips

I cant see why whole band photo's cant be done on these Runaway tours. This time the whole band is there why not have a full band photo.
The prices are so inflated I wouldn't go anyway it's to far from Australia.
I have a feeling Australia is going to be left out for a while.
Like between 1995 and 2008.When we only got 1 concert in Melbourne then they came for Rumba and done another 3 concerts.None of these events were really a tour .
Apart from Jon and Richie coming to Australia for there solo tours we had no full band tour for 13 years.
I think that may be the case again.

This, quite simply.

Spot on.

It's good that you brought up 'soccer moms', because I believe that's a much better term to describe the same thing without (often understandably) offending the intelligent housewives.

Sorry what does "soccer moms" mean exactly - it's not used much in my neck of the woods. Doesn't that just generalise another, albeit more niche, demographic? And once again characterise this type of fandom as being limited to females?

Anyway, it's nice that David specifically tweeted that the new songs were "killer live". I'm not getting my hopes up, but it's a nice little teaser at least. Let's hope they aren't too killer live or the album may be a letdown - à la WAN.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/defin...m=Soccer%20mom

By definition it specifically refers to those women being idiots (and is thus more suitable to describe Jon's groupies/backstagers) rather than them simply being women who stay at home to take care of kids and housework.
