We are not going to go through this album/tour cycle with you posting non-stop about Jon/Richie drama you've manufacturered in your head. This thread is about Bon Jovi promo shows and that is what people come here to read about. Not a single person gives a whit about any of the babbling nonsense you keep posting. Jon doesn't need to tip toe around because somebody who needs to find better things to do with their time is posting incessantly on a message board about things they don't understand. Richie doesn't need to explain anything and quite frankly, mature adults pretty inherently understand what happened and where things are now. Anybody who holds a steady job gets it. Get the hell over it and move on.

You are free to create a separate thread all about this. Don't expect it to be a popular one. Yes, I'm being harsh. Being nice just seems to be mistaken as encouragement. We couldn't get through a thread about the THINFS video without nutty posts all about how the video takes pot shots and desecrates the hallowed ground Richie shits on.
Bleeding Purist, I don't know if you referenced the video thread merely as an example, or if you are confusing Symbelline with me, but I was the one who was primarily responsible for derailing that thread, however unintentionally. I'm also the one who has most recently been accused of being 'nutty' by the pseudo psycho analysts here who seem to think they run the asylum. (Oh, and just in case you've forgotten, I believe the person you just chewed out was the first to suggest that my state of mind might be precarious.)

For the record, nobody said anything about the video taking pot shots or desecrating any hallowed ground. I have no control over how people interpret my comments on any thread, but just because a few overly sensitive people pluck statements out of context and choose to see them as either personal attacks on themselves or attacks on the band doesn't make that a reality. And if you really want to charge someone with the derailment of that particular thread, I suggest that you reserve some of that frustration you seem to have built up and level it at the people who assisted in taking that train off the track with their assumptions that my reluctance to watch the video was because I was upset that Richie wasn't in it or because he isn't in the band any longer, both of which had very little or nothing to do with my concerns.

Not that Symbelline needs my defense, but her posts here were about comments Jon has made during interviews that he did in support of "Bon Jovi promo shows" just like some of the comments made by other posters who, apparently, are better tolerated by members of this group.

Furthermore, she's right. Jon is dredging up the past in every interview he's doing now; and, to the best of my recollection, he's done it in every interview he's done since he started promoting the new album. One might argue that he has no control over what the interviewers ask, and is merely responding to questions that are asked of him. I don't believe that for a minute, but even if it's true, a simple "Richie just decided he didn't want to be in the band any longer" followed by his pet line, "and being in a rock band is not a life sentence" would sufficiently end the discussion.

You were right, as well, when you said that neither Jon nor Richie owes us any explanations. Absolutely true. But if you really are concerned about keeping all the Richie drama out of the threads, you might try to convince Jon to lay down his shovel, because he's the one who keeps digging it up again.

And to avoid derailing THIS thread I'll say up front that if anyone wants to discuss this post or any other I might make, feel free to send me a PM because I sure as hell wouldn't want to further annoy anyone by disrupting discussions among all the completely objective and quintessentially normal fans who post here.

I think Jon is more comfortable talking about this now than we it just happened. He had about 3 years to think about and process what happened, he has dealt with it and has a better understanding of why Richie left. And don't believe that either Jon or Richie will show any disrespect to one another, and from the latest interviews Jon has given, he has not and vice versa, I just think he is being more open and honest of his feelings. Plus the interviewers have been asking the questions to Jon about Richie, Jon could have said to them I don't want to discuss it, but Jon is now comfortable about it, it does not mean that he will get to specific details, but he is talking more. I don't think at all that there is new "drama" happening or either one is wanting drama, I think some people here want and like drama to happen just for their own amusement.

So this was posted on Phil's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/BK4It8gDsgG/

I assume it's for the Red Bank rehearsals. And is that a talkbox? If so, would that mean that at least one of the new songs feature some talkbox (which I would be down for) - or they may be throwing in a couple other songs at the end like they did with the LH show in 07.

Of course they are. They're not going to end the show after 45 mins.

They'll definitely play more.

Although Jon did say on The One Show, that if you were after the Greatest Hits, then the promo gigs were not for you...

That's kinda where I was coming from. Although I wouldn't be at all surprised if they threw on WSYCGH, IML and like WDOA at the end, the album is closer to 50 mins. With the possibility of playing certain songs slower, introductions/talking, and an extra solo/outro here and there - it's not impossible that they may call it a day after the 12 tracks. They could even do an "encore" of some of the bonus tracks or tracks off BB - highly doubt that though. I think it was just the optimist in me hoping that some of the new material had Phil on talkbox

That's true. I still imagine two or three songs will be played.
