Default Nickelback

Hi all,
I was at the Hampden Park show in Glasgow last Saturday, and what really was a pleasant surprise (for me atleast) was Nickelback. I only knew 'How you remind me' beforehand, but I think both their show and set-list was great.

At some point in the middle of BJ's set, I even found my self thinking I actually enjoyed Nickelback performance more that BJ...

That being said, I think Bon Jovi pulled it through in the end. But even though this was my first show with the boys since 1993 - it wasn't until the second half of the show they "won me over".

Anyway... I went out first thing Monday morning and bought Nickelbacks latest release. I really think they did a great job!

Just my 2c...

F.

Nickelback are good the first time you see them. The second time was already annoying and I am really glad that I did not have to see them more.
All in all, they are just another one of those bands out there. Better than LIVE though.

I'm quite a big LIVE fan. But they were absolutely dreadful live when they supported Jovi. OoOh that gets confusing. LIVE live. One of my teachers *would you believe* got me into them. Not that he will ever know cos I said they were monster suckage after seeing them live.
I'm sort of looking forward to seeing Nickelback. I wanted to see them when they did their independent tour but I was sort of - broke. I do the rock concert thing every other year. And they were playing the year I wasn't doing it. So it should be good.

Yeah I agree to this.. But as an opening act, they´re quite all right. Remember that earlier tours this century includes opening acts like Toploader and Mel C!

Better than Live - Bollocks!!!!! - Live are far better than NB. Live have more material, a better singer, and are better in concert.

But, i have to say NB were good, and i have nothing bad to say about them, but don't compare them to Live please!! (not for another 3-4 albums at least)

I'm glad that Nickelback supported Bon Jovi. That way I'm not wasting money to go and see them live. Don't get me wrong I like nickelback when there on full blast in the car. If they ever bring out a live album I won't be buying it. I have to agree that live the other year were a lot better.

To be fair i have seen NB twice at their own gigs and they are awesome, but supporting BJ they just didn't have the same impact. You have to remember that support bands are generally playing with another bands equipment and it won't be drastically changed in set up for the support so support bands rarely sound at their best. At their own gigs though they absolutely rock, much better than on their albums. the first time i went to see them I knew a few of their songs but generally they were quite new to me, they absolutely blew me away. I am quite dissapointed they are no longer supporting for hull, but in actual fact i would much rather go and see them at a NB gig than a BJ one.

I saw them at the Milton gig last night. They were actually pretty damn good. I'll give Chad Kroger *or however you spell his last name* props for being funny and saying that the back row of the bowl were smoking pot cos their parents had the expensive tickets and were in the Golden Circle. The only thing that bugged me was how few people seemed to know their songs. It seemed like I was the only person that had heard more than just 'How You Remind Me'.
