Jon can't sing rock in his lower register. He can't sound tough and believeable. I love it when he sings with the rasp of the 80's and in the high register. After 2000 he's been going lower and lower with every album, and in the same time lost all the power he had. So, IMO, if all the vocal notes stay in the lower register, the new album will not rock.
