Default No longer getting down with John Rich?

Maybe someone else who notices dumb stuff like this can help me out. Exactly when did Jon stop singing "Getting down with Big and Rich and Richie and Jon"? I noticed at both Toronto shows it was "Getting down with Big and Richie and Jon". I just youtubed around, it was like that at both the Foxboro and Saratoga shows.

Hmmm, I noticed that in Louisville too and wondered if it meant something or if it was just a flubbed line. I forgot about it until I read your post.

I think it's because Big and Rich aren't together anymore. I believe they went their seperate ways. Not a harsh split, though.

The lover of conspiracy theories in me thinks it's more about John Rich's homophobic remarks. I realize that's a HUGE stretch but why omit one and not the other. Alas, it's probably nothing.

Thanks for reminding me! I didn't notice this at Saratoga, but I sure noticed it on Saturday night. And I love a good conspiracy theory, too!

It's just easier to sing that way. "Gettin' down with Big and Rich and Richie and Jon" is a mouthful. Just flows better to drop the Rich.

That's funny, because he managed it just fine all during the LH tour and up until just recently.

Me too - and I thought I heard that on Saturday but wasn't sure. I wouldn't have caught it until I edited.

As I said about Big and Rich back in 2007 at the Prudential shows. I was surprised that Jon brought their brand of American paranoia into Newark, New Jersey. I was shocked at their *America - love it or get the hell out* t-shirts for sale at the merchandise booth. It's not something that we see here too often. It really put me off.

That may have nothing to do with why the lyrics changed but I don't mind them being sung differently at all.

If YOU don't care about the topic, don't waste your time coming into the thread. I'm not being picky or complaining, just was making an observation and trying to see how long he's been singing it this way. I don't go in threads about things I don't like, please extend the same courtesy my way.
