Oh stop it! You didn’t hate saying that at all, you loved it, you tinker! I know Taupin is a lyricist but I wasn’t aware that RS’s only involvement was the music; I thought it was a total collaboration. Even so, it’s a Richie release and beats the living p*ss out of recent collaborations he and/or Jon have done in the recent past with Falcon or Shanks.

Really? It's nice that the song is dedicated to the firemen, etc. It's not as bad as "Come back as me " .. Quite good song, agreed. Though most of the stuff they've done with Shanks and Falcon is much better than this. Imo. I'm not the only one who thinks so

Because Bernie Taupin is a lyricist and that is his way to work. He always writes the lyrics to the songs he does and then sends them to Elton or in this case Richie to write the music to them. Read interviews with Richie from last year where he talked about how writing songs with Bernie was strange to him at first because of this modus of working or any interviews by Elton John on songwriting with Bernie for confirmation.

I apologize for it coming across bad I didn't mean it that way. Hey I'm a Richie fan too!

You didn't come across as bad at all, I was joking with you, don't panic. I know BT usually works that way with Elton, I hadn't seen those quotes from Richie, so that's interesting to hear, thank you.

As for the opinion of it being a better song than recent Jovi tunes; The last time the band tried to write epic, storytelling tunes and got really excited about it, was Bounce and it seemed to blow up in their faces.

It is solely based on opinion but give me songs with this kind of care and craft any day over BWC or WAN.

Yep, I agree as well. The only ones who will kick up a stink are those that only go to see Jon.

Sorry I didn't get the joking part, sometimes things get lost in writing.

I agree with this wholeheartedly, I miss songs like Right side of Wrong and Joey so much! I wish Jon would remember the craft of songwriting instead of just putting empty phrases that are nearly the same on every record into most songs. I don't even know how he can sing those songs night after night without throwing up these days, it just sounds like empty words to me that are just there because Bon Jovi songs need to be optimistic stadium rockers etc. It is really sad to watch this. I mean at this point even the songs Jon writes for his own solo stuff are better like Not Running anymore and I did like the Fighter because it is telling a story and is well written.

I hope Richie will eventually remember that his first career, heart and passion lies in music and do another solo record. Dreaming of another solo tour too though I have my doubts on that because of how badly his solo tours sell in the US and I doubt he would put in the effort just to do a few shows in Europe. No idea if he would sell out here again after aggravating so many of his fans this year either.

I have been pissed off and annoyed at Richie a lot too, I am not one of these obsessed ass kissing fans of his. I have been upset at Jon occasionally just as well. And I am very sad to see my favourite band (of whom I have been a fan for over 13 years now which equals nearly half my lifetime) end like this. I do think both times are at fault as in every fight though and we should reserve ultimate judgement until we will know all the details of what really happened. (If we ever will which I doubt) Why is it necessary to make one of them the devil and the other the saint all the time? In every fight/divorce/relationship trouble there are always two people and both are to blame. That doesn't make them bad human beings though. It's just stuff that happens, unfortunately. Some of those downright vile comments by fans make me feel ashamed for this fandom and just make me wanna throw up or hit a wall or something. It's the reason I have unfollowed a whole lot of people on twitter over the course of the last year because I just couldn't stand their comments anymore.

All the bickering and fighting in between fans annoys me to no end which is why I have just been reading mostly and not posting a lot. Both Jon and Richie have some very disturbed, radical fans. Sometimes I come on here and feel transported back in time to when I used to read Beatles fanboards and those fans are still bickering and fighting on whose fault it is that their fav band broke up 40 years later and who has more talent/better songwriter/worst bandleader etc. I have a feeling this fandom will end up being just the same if Jon and Richie don't make up again at some point which would be very sad.

And yeah, if I remember right Richie said that he had a long talk with Bernie and then some days later he got an email from him with all these song lyrics and was completely overwhelmed and a bit confused at first. lol And then he picked the song that he liked best and that fit him best (Weathering the storm) and wrote the music to it.

Well, go figure. I don't know what I think, but someone else does. Thank goodness for that. I've expressed my point of view over and over and over again, to the point I can't stand my own posts anymore. So, frankly, if anyone here is too lazy to go read them and decides to pick here and there to create this alter ego of me and say that I take sides, then feel free, whatever floats your boat... not.
The truth is I care for this band and I care for its members and I hate all those people who get involved in business that's obviously not theirs, acting like it's all a game or something, in an obvious attempt to get personal gain from a pretty sad situation. This is my idea. Like it or not, but don't add your own twist to it, thanks.

The song sounds like an Elton John reject.

Bores me.

I hate it when RS and JBJ do these slow songs.

Calm down. You dropped a comment about ‘Borg/Lund bodyguards’ and you weren’t specific, I asked an honest question about whether you were meaning me and gave a direct opinion. I named you and didn’t leave any doubt about my feelings on it. I also stated that you might not have been referring to me. I could have slipped a seemingly ambiguous comment into a post that was clearly aimed at certain people then when I was called out on it, I could act all emotional and hurt as if I really hadn’t meant any harm at all; attempting to make others seem irrational and unfair.

Oh look. I just did.

I am not picking and creating an alter-ego of you… you favour Jon, you detest the people Richie has around him and you seem to revel in anything that makes him look like a twat. Anyone who reads your posts can see that. That’s fine but embrace it, don’t run away from it and act like an injured bird every time someone has a different opinion. At the beginning of all this, all I said was, I didn’t understand why a friend tweeting how happy he was, was received with such animosity. But this grew into a wider debate about Richie’s involvement in music/fashion etc outside of Bon Jovi and our overall acceptance of it as Bon Jovi fans. Do you want to give your opinion or do you want me to do it for you, seeing as I know you so well?
