Come on people, comparing Phil X to Richie is pretty damn pointless in this way. Richie didn't leave because Phil was replacing him. Richie went, Phil is the stand in. Mutually exclusive events. Him doing a very admirable job does not detract from anything Richie has done in the past. The "Who's best" argument is pointless and irrelevant. Just be thankful that we have an adequate stand-in who not only does a decent job but is having a blast and actually giving back to the fans through social media, as opposed to being stuck with Bobby on lead.

The guy in your avatar. What's his name? I've been trying to think of his name for days now.

Sorry, been out of the loop for a while, so I'm guessing the Austrailian Today show clip was posted. Honestly, Richie is a big goddamn baby and he's full of shit. 24/7 for 30 years. With what band? From 1984 to 1990 that's a valid point, but from February of 1990 to December of 1991, the band was apart. From 1992-1996, OK, sure. But seriously dude, stop bitching about the "24/7" shit. At least half of that time is spent making the records. You know what that's called Richie? A job. And a damn good one. We all have them. At the end of the day, you go home to your family. And with a shitload lot more money than any of us, so pardon me if I don't dry for you Argentina. From 1996-2000, again, no band. Any time "away from his family", his call. And yeah, from 2000 on it has been album-tour, but again, you've got a box set in there in 2004, where they weren't around. You've got a GH record after the Circle Tour. Jesus, the guy's had more time off than any of us have had in our lives. I agree they maybe should have taken more time off after the last tour, but he should have come to this realization that he didn't want to be a part of it from the get-go. You don't call in sick one day and decide you're taking the next 6 months off. And don't use the "I wanna be a Daddy" excuse either when you're traveling the world with some blonde bimbo playing Ken and Barbie for the fashion world.

JBJ isn't the JBJ of my Yokohama bootleg circa 1996 effortlessly hitting the high notes in Prayer. RS isn't the Sambora of the 1995 European MTV Awards absolutely killing Hey God. And on and on … maybe it's best to let my memories be what they are (and still enjoy them) but stop expecting this band to fill the role they once did in my life and just enjoy what they put out and discard what I don't enjoy.
You have put into words what has been in the back of my mind for some time. I've spent way too much time focused on this drama that has nothing at all to do with my life. I'll see Bon Jovi with or without Richie. And I'll enjoy the shows.

Following this train wreck of a story makes my life look calm and wonderful and peaceful in comparison. And perhaps I should be focusing on my own very imperfect life and let the Jovi drama play out as it will.

As you said, I'll treasure the memories that I have, but I need to let go of the voyeuristic interest in Richie and his role, or lack thereof, in the band.

Now are not funny, they are just clowns smiling constantly. It's just another trick of Jon, as that speech before play "Wanted", or Phil X as "Brother Phil".
That was a cute video. I've never seen it before. You are right - Jon didn't have much of a sense of humor about the guitar malfunctions

He has quit the tour because he was tired of it AND to spend more time with Ava.

For a few months you didn't hear anything from him so I guess he was spending this time with his daughter, driving her to school etc. Remember about that.

Now Richie is more active, I don't see anything wrong with that but I guess you want him to be a prisoner in his own house just because he is not with Jon now.

and hi, it's my first post here.
