Jon and Richie have written just as many bad songs together as they have apart. People are clinging to the idea of brotherhood that, as Seb has said, hasn't existed in some time. A point I've made a billion times Richie co-wrote every single song on The Circle. You can't claim Richie is the rock side of the band when he co-wrote an album of mid tempo songs with the occasional solo.

It's not enough for him to be back in the band, he has to be present in the band otherwise he's going through the motions and helping contribute bland. That's why I don't care if he's back or not, the band needs to be the band.

It's just that the realization seems to sink in with most fans now that an actual face in the band has changed. This band has been dead since Have A Nice Day; Bounce was the last record that was actually written, demoed and recorded like a real band.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
Well if you really want to go down that avenue you could say it's been Jon's solo project since Doc was fired. Only recently has his humbleness dwindled and his ego taken over.

When Jon was humble and modest the band was at its best. Something changed after that pathetic acoustic album. Reality went out the window. Have A Nice Day is the album i dislike the most (aside from this current tripe)

Jon has had a much bigger hand running the show since Doc was out, I agree, but it never affected the music until 2005 when the band dynamic went out the window.

Its all very well saying that Richie co-wrote The Circle (an album i quite enjoyed actually) - but how much did he co-write? Jon always had the final say and his quest to be "current" has churned out albums that have been mediocre for the last 10 years

The John Bongiovi Band
No matter the musicians
No matter the songs
Only matters The Man.

He's back and is definitely here to stay.

Unlike Richie, who's been in and out of the band for half a decade now and can't get his shit together.

I don't give a shit what his excuse is this time or back then. Get your shit together and sign up for the tour, or stay home and get your shit together there. But don't join and then decide you can't get your shit together anyway. Jon has been at every single show and has never cancelled one because of his issues, sometimes even when he should have because he was too ill to perform. Stop giving the man shit for actually doing what he's supposed to do.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Well then no discussion can be had here if we're going for "well what if the liner notes are wrong?" Why would he have his name on 12 songs that he didn't actually co-write? What's to be gained?

Funnily enough, I like the writing of the album, I found the lyrics to be an improvement. My point was it wasn't an all out rock album that everyone thinks Richie is responsible for. He co-wrote the album and that's just the way it is. Anything past fact is theory.

Sometimes as much as changing 2 words can mean being added to the writing credits. I very much doubt all songs on The Circle were written by Jon and Richie together. I reckon Jon wrote the basics and then Richie tweaked that stuff here and there. It's no secret that many liner notes regarding Bon Jovi songs are fishy.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
