Richie's been pretty much invisible for the past 10 years or so ever since Bon Jovi stopped being a band. If he actually leaves Bon Jovi he'll be "that guitarist that used to play in Bon Jovi who's got a solo album out". He's got no career outside of Bon Jovi and doesn't seem to be that willing to work for it either considering how little effort he put into promoting his own album.

That does not matter, Sambora wants to make the trip anyway, because he enjoy those shows.
Before, I gave the example of Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters drummer), he filled pubs of 100 or 200 people, with small concerts on the road to promote their work. Joe Perry is other example about making music for himself.
Stranger in This Town, Undiscovered Soul, Aftermath of the Lowdown, are not errors, despite being a commercial failure.
Bon Jovi fans only think of success in the charts, billboards albums, sold out shows, .... JBJ controls your minds.
