No Richie on current leg of the tour

Twinfan, would a moonpie make it better? And I know this will piss off Richie fanatics but, I would hope Jon has a backbone and doesn't resort to letting Richie pick and choose which shows he feels like playing OR which fans he decides to show up for. Either all the tour or none. Yes, I'm still nursing a grudge.

It seems like the only people saying this are the people going to Hyde Park.

And all you folk comparing being Richie Sambora to "just going to work", bear in mind that if you have a normal 9-5 job, you can quit, and get a new job.

And ask yourself this: would you rather work a job that gives you lots of money, but does not make you happy or feel like you're making the best of yourself, or would you choose to get a new job, for lesser rewards if it fulfilled you?

RS either comes back full time or not at all. That WOULD be an insult to the fans if he did one big show that suited him. I concur!

Yeah me too However we are going over the same old ground, the same old fears, wish you were here (Richie). For those of you who know the song.

From my perspective Richie bailed in 2007, 2011 and 2013. The first two times he was in rehab and everyone gave him a pass - no questions. His health was far more important than the band and in 2011 Phil X did a fine job.

However this is the 3rd time, it's a bit much and it certainly can be said that he is not reliable anymore. Also, it appears that there are other issues behind the scenes that we know nothing about (damnit - I want to know). So on the surface which is all the information that we have, Richie cannot be depended upon. When you consider the implications of the giant contracts that have been signed and Jon not showing up - it might look a bit more serious.

I agree that Richie should either come back or not - and not "choose" shows to play. I don't think he would do that anyway; but that's just me. The only thing I can think of that might prompt that concern would be the Hyde Park statement and a lot of people seemed to agree that "I'd like to play Hyde Park" was taken out of context, probably in response to a specific question about whether he'd be in London or not.

(And you're certainly allowed to nurse a grudge, if you want to. It's a fine-honed Southern skill after all. Just ask the Hatfields and the McCoys! )
