Wasn't it the Rumor Fix video where the interviewer asked whether the Hyde Park thing was true and Richie said something like, "No, no, we're just not happening right now, sadly' and then added, "It's too soon."?

There's no way Jon told the journo.

The ellipsis (...) merely illustrate either something was cut out or the journo was using it to show the sentence tailed off.

And IF something was cut out, it wouldn't be worth reporting. It's NOT the reason behind it all. Wishful thinking I'm afraid.
Having worked as a journalist for many years, it's a simple device to cut out the waffle. Sorry.
