listening to that clip of Always Walk Beside You and it hit me that it is really similar to Bon Jovi and What About Now.

Yeah, I get it, he is Bon Jovi's guitarist so it makes sense but I like Aftermath a fair bit and hate WAN, so I think I had convinced myself that Richie's album was a departure from WAN, more artistic or whatever. I just gave it another listen and while I like the songs they are just as bland as the ones on WAN, at least in their own way. Richie was talking up jamming and this being a free spiritual record but it is equally as corporate and uninspired as WAN.

It doesn't really bother me cause as I said I like it more than WAN, but it puts it into perspective for me when people say Richie is all from the soul and not afraid to take risks. Aftermath is safe, no risk, a little soul, and no jamming, I think some people confuse disjointed and going off on stylistic tangents as risky. I had convinced myself that, not anymore.

Thanks for that! At least now we know where it comes from. Makes sense. And what you say about the setting getting changed from private to public after six months (it's dated January 21st), coupled with the (unconfirmed) plan to release new material in the next two months tells me we'll probably see the entire video soon enough, probably preceded by an official release of "Come Back As Me", to make things all the more spicy and interesting.

"Come back as me" is risky and daring, "Burn the candle down" is scorching, "Broken Wing" is a powerful rocker, "seven years gone", "Ill always beside you" & "You can only get so high "is better than any song of WAN. Even "Every Road" is better single than "Because We Can".

Aftermath does much more for me than WAN. The songs are more honest and talks about real things that him have happened in a dark moment of his life. However with WAN me want to vomit rainbows, It's an pop album without passion, cheesy and boring.

Vomiting rainbows is the single most beautiful thing that could ever happen to a human being, so I honestly don't see your point, Rolo.

It's better than crapping rainbows. (And Rolo I really hope you don't have a graphic for that!)
