This. Come Back As Me was never meant as a serious attempt at creating something deep, but this is and it's just so incredibly bland and predictable. If you think this kind of stuff is missing from Bon Jovi I kind of wonder what you honestly expect from the band nowadays. There's the melodramatic piano, some acoustic guitar strumming just so he's playing on the track as well, and then there's him singing those lyrics in the most boring way as possible.
But besides all of that, I just can't take a cluster**** like Richie Sambora seriously anymore when it comes to writing serious music. I feel he's been trying to use his "issues" as a selling point for some time now, and it wouldn't surprise me if he'd use 9/11 to try to get a solo track aired on radio, much like "I'll Always Walk Beside You" was dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Sandy. It's bogus and so far fetched that the man should be ashamed of promoting his music this way.
