Exclamation Nobody understands.....

The way I feel, about seeing Bon Jovi for the first time.

I'm going with my mum, who is a fan...but nowhere near as much as me. She's looking forward to it. But it's not the same as how I feel. This is Bon Jovi....my favourite band for yearss. The band that I used to listen to when 6-year's-old. The band that my big sister used to talk about, and play, when I was pratically a baby! The same band that was being played, when I would insist on following my sister and her friends, and boyfriend about..when they were just BLOWING UP with These Days, in the 90's. The same band, that my sister's boyfriend at the time was obsessed over. The same band that made the song, the first song that ever really captured me as a kid. Always. The same band that made the album These Days...the first Jovi album I heard. The album that my sister loved, and played. The album I would ask her to play. The same band that helped me through the worst times of my life. The same band that "spoke" to me, and told me to keep going through it, because there will be better days....keep the faith. The same band that were about in the 80's, and done the mighty Living On a Prayer, Wanted, Bad Name, Bad Medicine, etc. that everybody knows. The same band that I would watch on DVD, and think "if only I could see them live" But it seemed so impossible, being 14-years-old. Jon Bon ****ing Jovi...my God!

But to everybody else (well, offline anyway) it's just a concert. But it's soooooooo much more. This is partly the reason, next time I wanna meet-up with other fans off here and go with them. Because atlough my mum will enjoy it, and I want to take her... it's just not the same. If Dry County, or Stick To Your Guns, or Living In Sin, or etc. are played...she's not gonna understand. She's not gonna be able to appreciate such a special moment. If she even knows those songs .

Say you understand!!! And does anybody feel the same way as me? I'm ecstatic, reallly excited. But it would be even better if the person I was going with, "got it". Do you think the person/s you're going with really get it?

Aloha !

Do you have big tits? If so, you can meet up with me and Thierry in Twickenham. Problem solved.

I do know how you feel though. I talked a bit about this with my friends and wondered why people accept other people following the Stones through Europe, but don't understand it when it's Bon Jovi. It's not like the Stones have written deep songs that mean a lot, and with Bon Jovi being on fire like they are right now they're giving away a better show than the Stones did last time I saw them.

My mum and dad understand it now that I get all happy when I talk about a certain show or a certain song being played. When my dad picked me up after the show in Amsterdam and I told him that "Stick To Your Guns was played!" he was still a bit like "oooh Stick To Your Guns...yeah whatever" but was happy it was played. I always compare it to McCartney, of which he is a big fan. "Imagine that McCartney plays song x, that's sort of the same. And then they understand.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I understand. I haven't been a fan for long, I only became a proper fan in 2006 when they started the Have A Nice Day tour. I grew up with them because my brothers were big fans. The biggest fan was my brother Chris(Chris79, he has the Newcastle United badge as his avatar). I am going to Twickenham night 1 with all my brothers and I am really happy because they know what it will be like if a rare song is played. I can't wait until the Friday when I get the day off school, get on the train and head to London to see one hell of a concert. It's gonna be the best day of my life, without a doubt!!!

I do understand how you feel. I'm coming over by myself for the London shows and everyone says I'm nuts and that's okay.

I know how it feels.
I was 10 when i first went to see them, the excitement was massive.
Going to the coach station, wearing my bon jovi flag, bon jovi necklace, bon jovi hat, bon jovi shirt... the lot!
I was so excited!
I actually think i'm more excited for this concert now.
I've never been so excited, had a countdown for ages, was made up to get a ticket, really didn't think i would get one, but now i have, i'm made up!
Manchester, Here i come!

I know how it feels. Even thought Manchester will be my 6th show I still feel the excitement. And the first time I saw them was just amazing.
Everyone I work with thinks I'm mad when they hear I am going to 4 shows

Haha. Maybe I do, maybe I don't....you'd have to find that out for yourself hey.

Good. I'm glad you understand. I think that's the thing, though. My mum doesn't really have a band/artist, that she's crazy about. She LOVES music, but not so much a specific artist that I could compare it with for her. As I pointed out, my sister used to be a big Jovi fan back in the day. Not anymore really. But she's a huge U2 fan (your favourite band ...), so if I compared to her she could try to understand. But I know in her eyes, U2 are miles better, so she'd still probably think "it's just Bon Jovi" I miss those days where she loved them! My brother is a massive Pink Floyd fan, but again he'd probably think "it's just Bon Jovi". I don't think they understand, this has been the dream for years.

Like I said, I want to take my mum, and she will enjoy it I'm sure. But I have nobody offline, that I can be like ".....I'm ACTUALLY seeing Bon Jovi." and they quite understand. Nobody that I can just look at, when a certain amazing song (hopefully!!) had started to play. And they understand, and we can be like ".........wow...they are playing this song" So next time, I need to go with some/a few fellow JT'ers. Atlough, hopefully there will be other die-hards around me that I'll get talking to, this time.

I understand.
I'll never forget the first time I saw them. August 7, 2003, Giants Stadium, second to last show of the Bounce Tour. It freaking poured the entire show, but the band played for about 2 1/2 hours. Hearing those songs for the first time....hearing Saturday Night for the first (which was and is my favorite song) was indescribable.

That's what my brother was like, a hugeee fan (Paul UK) now, he's just gone right off them and i'm gutted.
I liked our talks after the shows and things, this is just going to be different.
With my first concert, we met outside the stadium after it and got a taxi with my mum and a friend, and just spoke about it virtually all the way home.
Then my second, he phoned me up and we spoke, now, i will just have my mum to talk to who isn't the biggest fan in the world.
