Default Nostalgia Tour

Am I the only one who wouldn't mind one of these. Everyone keeps saying that it's at least good that Bon Jovi are keeping things relevant and keeping their shows from being nostalgic.

But... it works for Aerosmith and Def Leppard and they put on stunning shows. I'd much rather them tour and focus more on their hits and their big albums. Let's ignore Jon's stance on this more. If you had the option of having the band focus more on Slippery When Wet, New Jersey and Crossroads stuff, and through in a few hits from the 2000s and the occasional album track, would you rather that? Or would you want them to continue playing 15 songs from their last 3 albums.

Also, this is not an excuse for you to write out your dream setlist. We have enough of those threads.

Can we include Crush? I would pay whatever delusional amount of money Jon wanted to attend multiple shows that focused mainly on the 5 albums between 1986 and 2000. That said, I like them touring new stuff, I just wish the stuff around the new songs was chosen more carefully.

Umm....

Hell, yes!

IF Jon could sing the songs right.

I wouldn't hate it, I love all the eras of the band so I'd enjoy everything

Sorry, I do not they play a lot of songs of their big albums. Maybe this tour there're less but Slippery and New Jersey have always been present, the same with Keep The Faith, is not like they forget it. They're playing less songs now in this tour, but is something new, The Circle was full of old stuff, same with Live 2011.

Also, I have more interest in listening stuff from Bounce than Born To Be My Baby or In These Arms for the 29304823904th time. I'd hate it. I want a more balanced setlist, I like the post-2000 stuff but not the tracks they're playing. Take down In These Arms and BTBMB for once and bring another old songs, one tour without playing them won't kill nobody, take down Bed Of Roses and bring back Lie To Me, I don't know, there's a bunch of songs to rotate before doing something so desperate like this.

Also, I don't think Aerosmith put a stunning show, the one I went was good, but short IMO. It wasn't stunning at all, just a good show.

Oh... crap.

Well, another idea is, they're coming to their "Bon Jovi" album 30th anniversary. Why not start doing something like this:

2014th tour: World Wide. Bunch of new songs with some hits, whole Bon Jovi album, hits to close.

2015th tour: The same with 7800, or don't do it and take a rest. I love this album but it's been irrelevant.

2016/17 tour: The same with Slippery.

2018/19/20/21 tour: The same with KTF.

And like this up with These Days... or more albums if they want.

The whole concept of a Nostalgia tour is embarrassing. They just did a Greatest Hits tour!

NO for me, probably because I've seen all the tours since 1985 so I personally like to leave the past in the past.

Why not? You'd rather get a 2,5 hour show filled with Cpt. Crash's and Who Says You Can't Go Home's over a 2,5 hour show with a set much like the ones from the 1996 and 1995 tours?

I've heard the hits enough times live to not want a show full of them. I don't have a problem with them playing new songs, I just think the wrong ones are getting played to death.

I honestly like newer material being showcased and a set completely filled with hits bores me.

I like some of the stuff released post 2000 as well. The problem is, they're not playing it. The best song of the records always get dropped first. Love's The Only Rule, Thorn In My Side of The Circle. Any Other Day of Lost Highway. Undivided of Bounce. One Wild Night and Older of Crush, they're all gone from the sets. Would they still be in there, there'd be a lot less bitching about the current set.

Despite having heard the hits numerous times now, I'd still prefer them over over anything new. And when talking about a 2,5 hour set the b-selection will be filled of songs of the first 5 records, as opposed to songs from the last few albums I just don't care for anymore because, like you say, they're playing the wrong songs.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
