Love's The Only Rule, Thorn In My Side of The Circle. Any Other Day of Lost Highway. Undivided of Bounce. One Wild Night and Older of Crush, they're all gone from the sets. Would they still be in there, there'd be a lot less bitching about the current set.

Despite having heard the hits numerous times now, I'd still prefer them over over anything new. And when talking about a 2,5 hour set the b-selection will be filled of songs of the first 5 records, as opposed to songs from the last few albums I just don't care for anymore because, like you say, they're playing the wrong songs.

Salaam Aleikum,

I just don't relate to the earlier material. That may be my own problem. I love it but for as cliche and hit-over-the-head-repeatedly the new subject matter is I will always sing my guts out louder to it than, say, Lay your hands on me. It's fun but it's sugar.

If they did a nostalgia tour everyone would be complaining even more than they are now. Sometimes the band can't win.

I wouldn't be averse to say a 2014 'New Jersey' tour where half the set was that album then they came back after a break and did another 12-13 songs from any period.

Saw WASP do something similar last year (although oddly they didn't play any songs from New Jersey) and it worked quite well. First 10 songs were hits, next set album specific.

My fear would be, and I think, Jon knows this, was that he wouldn't be able to sing the old songs.

Oh, he can't. We know already, it's a fact. That's why it will never happen, they would have to be 18 song sets because his throat would die.

Same here, only change 1985 to 1989. But I have bootlegs of the early shows so it's not like they're a mystery to me. I like that they still have new songs in the set. I do wish they would use a larger variety songs though.

I would love them to do some smaller themed shows, be it album only, rarities or acoustic sets advertised as such but I don't see that sort of thing happening, and it probably wouldn't be financially viable to do it anywhere outside of the US. Maybe not until after the band finish and maybe Jon tours on his own.
The O2 run was our best chance for that and they blew it. Even if they did a couple of shows like that at the Indigo2 on off nights it would have been great. But nothing.

2015th tour: The same with 7800, or don't do it and take a rest. I love this album but it's been irrelevant.

2016/17 tour: The same with Slippery.

2018/19/20/21 tour: The same with KTF.

And like this up with These Days... or more albums if they want.
Lol at the idea of Jon singing "She Don't Know Me" at every show for a full year around the world. I'd like to see them play a full album show, but I couldn't see them doing it at more than just a few shows in NJ or at something similar to the O2 residency. Since I expect them to tour in 2014, I'd be cool to see them switch off between New Jersey and Slippery for a leg, but I don't expect it to happen. I also don't think they have that many tours left in them. Keep in mind Tico turns 60 this year.

They should be doing whatever it takes to not be like Def Leppard or Aerosmith.

Do you want them to do a casino run next?

If you had the option of having the band focus more on Slippery When Wet, New Jersey and Crossroads stuff, and through in a few hits from the 2000s and the occasional album track, would you rather that? Or would you want them to continue playing 15 songs from their last 3 albums.

Also, this is not an excuse for you to write out your dream setlist. We have enough of those threads.
Give me the nostalgia act please and songs from all the albums up to These Days - all their other stuff after that epic album is forgettable.

Hell yeah. I listened to Let It Rock, Hardest Part is the night (sound check), Only Lonely and Roulette from The Circle tour and I didn't think they sounded terrible. I'd take those versions of these songs over half of the crap in the current setlists.

I'm only 20 so I've not had a chance to see Bon Jovi in the 80's, which is a massive shame as I'd love it. I love the old albums, I love 7800 Fahrenheit and I never hear anything from it live, so a tour based on the 80's album would be awesome. I'd drive to New Jersey to see it
