The only full-albums that I could ever see the band doing in full are SWW or NJ, and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I know Iron Maiden did a tour where they played strictly old stuff pre-89 and then did another tour where it was completely focused on the newer material. But I just can't see Bon Jovi pulling this off, they don't have enough dedicated fans that love the new stuff as much as the old. But it is a cool idea...

I think they do, and the casuals won't know if they're going to the old hits tour or the new hits tour, they'll just be "going to see jon bon jovi, lol".

I would vote for that.

Maybe not until after the band finish and maybe Jon tours on his own.
The O2 run was our best chance for that and they blew it. Even if they did a couple of shows like that at the Indigo2 on off nights it would have been great. But nothing.
I'd like that too, a one off show or tour, at a more intimate venue showcasing one album or era. I think the nearest we got recently was JBJS fan club show where he sang his solo albums in part, which was great. Gutted he didn't bring something like that over here.

Dunno why Jon is such a snob about it really, Stereophonics and Ocean colour scene did shows playing their full classic albums and Phonics are still bringing out new albums.

part of the problem for me is the crowd. Would they get the same crowd as they did at Hammersmith in 1990 for an intimate show? No. Instead of putting the casuals off it would make them want tickets more to be up close to Jon. I loved the Richie crowd in October, no girls screeching, more men, and could just tell everyone I'm there appreciated the music and the rarities.

Most people who said yes would be bitching the sets are vanilla and predictable. They honestly cannot win.

No, I don't think so. Not if it was an 18 song set of just 80's stuff.

They missed a huge opportunity there. Its not surprising the sales tailed off towards the end of the run. Full album run throughs, proper rareties, gig at the indigo2, simple yet so effective.

I'd go for 80's show. Just pick any of early albums and play it from start to finish. Then add a little something from the rest of 80's albums. Others have done it and pulled it off, why wouldn't BJ? Oh wait, the biggest problem would be Jon not being able to deliver. But, with some effort, I believe it would be enjoyable.

Like a few people mentioned, the best opportunity for a totally different kind of show would be a JBJ theatre solo tour, clearly advertised as ''An evening with JBJ, playing rarities and album tracks, plus a few fan favourites'' I would lap this up. And it might discourage the casuals who would not appreciate stuff they do not know.

Personally I myself wouldn't be interested in hearing full 80's albums at this stage in their career, as that just wouldn't feel right coming from a present day Jon. It would feel forced, unnatural, nostalgic and to be honest probably wouldn't sound too good with JBJ's current vocal style and capabilities. Works for other artists, would not work for Bon Jovi.

But I'd be well up for hearing a mix of 90's stuff, solo stuff (Destination anywhere in particular) and select album tracks, and of course throw in some rare 80's stuff but rework them (acoustic I'd die for you, Livin in sin, stick to your guns etc)

Judging by how much fun Richie had in those smaller club shows, I think Jon should definitely do this. Shows for the diehards, with songs covering their whole career that they are usually too afraid to play too much of in front of massive arenas of casual fans.

But they/Jon would have to do this for the pure enjoyment and love of the music, and not for the money as such a tour would not generate the millions that he is used to. And therein lies the problem.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."
