And it might discourage the casuals who would not appreciate stuff they do not know.

Personally I myself wouldn't be interested in hearing full 80's albums at this stage in their career, as that just wouldn't feel right coming from a present day Jon. It would feel forced, unnatural, nostalgic and to be honest probably wouldn't sound too good with JBJ's current vocal style and capabilities.
But I'd be well up for hearing a mix of 90's stuff, solo stuff (Destination anywhere in particular) and select album tracks, and of course throw in some rare 80's stuff but rework them (acoustic I'd die for you, Livin in sin, stick to your guns etc)

Judging by how much fun Richie had in those smaller club shows, I think Jon should definitely do this. Shows for the diehards, with songs covering their whole career that they are usually too afraid to play too much of in front of massive arenas of casual fans.

Andi
I dead on agree with everything you said. Jon doing 80's tracks only would look forced and I couldn't swallow watching him do that material at that age. You think he's on auto-pilot now? Try watching a 51 year old sing Social Disease because he has to.

I'd love a club tour too. Make it clear it's what what you're doing and you won't get the hits. You'd think there's enough diehards that would support it.

Nostalgia tours suck unless the band only ever had a few hits.
If I want to hear old Bon Jovi I can listen to old Bon jovi there are bunch of recordings out there.

I would love love love something like that to happen. After seeing Richie in Munich, one of the first thoughts that popped into my head was "How amazing would it be if the whole band played an acoustic show here?"
I love stadium shows, I do, but seeing Richie in that charming small venue made me realize just how great it is to be a part of a smaller crowd, a crowd that really knows the artist and wants to be there.
I think the band would enjoy it very much as well. I hope the thought of doing something like that for the diehards (and themselves) crosses their mind someday...

It would feel forced, unnatural, nostalgic and to be honest probably wouldn't sound too good with JBJ's current vocal style and capabilities. Works for other artists, would not work for Bon Jovi.

But I'd be well up for hearing a mix of 90's stuff, solo stuff (Destination anywhere in particular) and select album tracks, and of course throw in some rare 80's stuff but rework them (acoustic I'd die for you, Livin in sin, stick to your guns etc)

But they/Jon would have to do this for the pure enjoyment and love of the music, and not for the money as such a tour would not generate the millions that he is used to. And therein lies the problem.

Andi
And you think the tickets are expensive now?
