Default now, songs that don't like live..

after reading rachel thread, i'm just curious to know, with songs u like on cd, but don't like live on a show.

for me:
sleep when i'm dead: i don't understand that they still play it live, for me it's boring, and a bit long for a show.

radio saved my life tonight: i love it on cd, and i know it's a song hard to sing live cause it has low notes, and maybe that's why it doesn's sound so good live, u can hardly listen to jon.

last man standing: the same reason below.

ktf: i like this song live till this tour.. i don't know why but it doesn't transfer me any strength as it used to... it used to be a song of hope, but this last tour, for me, it was like another song.

I'll sleep when I'm dead is boring live.

Radio Saved...Sounds like crap live.

Anything done TLFR style.

Richie singing I'll Be There For You. I love Richie and I love the song - Just not him singing it.

I've never liked Bad Name live. The guitar is whiney and it sounds different. It's never sounded as good live as it does on the CD. Everything else I like better live (even songs I don't care for are okay live).

I heard a recording of Bad Name on the radio many years ago and it was the first "live" Bon Jovi I ever heard. I was very disappointed because I thought that if it was any indication, they must not be very good live. I'm glad I was wrong! That song has still never thrilled me in concert and I want to throw things at them when they play it on television shows. LOL

it's curious whay you say about richie and IBTFY, i specially like this song live in the latest tours because richie sing it. i think he gives a special blues touch to the song..

and i agree with you about the TLFR style.. i prayed they din't play the TLFR version of bed of roses in european tour:P

Actually, I hate Richie singing IBTFY too. I'm SICK of it. That used to be my favorite live song on bootlegs and it was one I wished to hear before every show. I've only heard Jon sing the electric version once (in 2000). I don't go to an Aerosmith show to hear Joe Perry sing "Dude Looks Like a Lady" or "Janie Got a Gun." I don't go to a Bon Jovi song to hear Richie sing "I'll Be There for You." I fell in love with the song with Jon's vocals and that's what I want to hear. I'd rather Richie sang one of his solo songs. I also think that if Richie is going to sing, they should alternate nights and Dave and Tico should also sing every once in a while.

I don't "hate" any song live. There are some I'd prefer to hear over others but even the songs I think I'm tired of like Sleep, I still am into when the song starts.

I agree 100%. Well, 99% - I wouldn't want to hear Dave and Tico singing.

I didn't mind when Richie sang Stranger In This Town, but IBTFY is a classic. I think this is one of those songs that Jon sounds just as good today on, as he did in 1989 (albeit a bit different.)

My ideal version of IBTFY would be Richie singing the first verse, then the rest of the song as it was performed 1988-2001.

I suppose i dont dislike any of the songs live (except TLFR), probably as i've only gone to 4 shows so i'm not that tired of Bad medicine, sleep, bad name!!
