Well, it's just 1 show. Axl Rose has been doing it for 10+years. Atleast most of Bon Jovi will be there. And it is just the keys. Richie will be there. That would really suck if it was no Richie.

As much as I like Dave, he can be replaced and it would make no difference to the sound of the band.

The same can't be said for Richie or Tico.

Yep. Agree 100%. Dave is great and we all love him, but Dave (see Hugh & Bobbi) is pretty interchangeable with any replacement. Probably been discussed here hundreds of times but in order:
JBJ.......Richie....(huge drop)..Tico..........massive drop (Dave & other musicians).

I wouldn't be thrilled to see the band without Dave, but if I'd made travel arrangements for the show (like booked a flight), I'd rather see the band with no Dave than no show at all and lose the money I'd invested in the concert.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I think it's great that David is going to go to the Tony Awards. The Tonys are a huge deal for Broadway, and the 8 nominations that Memphis got are terrific. I guess I see it as a sign of support from the rest of the band.

Uhh. What is some (no matter AMA, Oscar or whatever else) awards show about?? Sitting in the audeince in a suit and waiting, watching mosty boring programm and hoping that you'll get some of the awards you've nominated for. If you are lucky, you go on the stage, get it and say thanks to you mother, father and the people that helped you with your project and that's all... Rock and roll shows instead of this would be my choice. Interesting that all of the Americans who won't be there at the show are very fine with that. I'd be interested how happy would you be if the Tony's were on May, 29.

And I hate those statements that David is not that importants. He is important. He is a member of the band. Listen to some of the shows from Jon's solo tour in 1997 and 1998 - the keyboards are far from what it should be. I don't see why people need to make lists of importance of the members. All of them are important.

If I were going to that show (but I'm not going to any ) I'd be hella pissed.

But David's been playing in Bon Jovi for 25 years now, he's now got this MASSIVE award show for which HIS musical has been nominated.

I think I could let him have glory in his own work for one night instead of playing 22 songs that he didn't write.

Not as if he's missing the show for a prison cell or something, right Richie Sambora? <_<
