I would have been really disappointed if I attented an entire acoustic show. Sure some acoustic songs in the set but if I want only acoustic songs then I'll buy ticket to an acoustic concert. When I go and see Bon Jovi I want to see the best rock show in the world, not anything else !

These sort of complaints emerged when the band played a set like this:

July 27, 2003, NissanPavillion, Bristow, VA, USA Setlist:

Acoustic set:
1. Have A Little Faith In Me
2. Love For Sale
3. Livin' On A Prayer
4. Wanted Dead Or Alive
5. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night
6. Something To Believe In
7. Fever
8. Bed Of Roses
9. Everyday
10. Joey
11. I'll Be There For You (Richie Sambora on lead vocals)
12. Misunderstood
13. Never Say Goodbye

Electric set:
14. Undivided
15. You Give Love A Bad Name
16. Runaway
17. Just Older
18. It's My Life
19. Lay Your Hands On Me
20. Born To Be My Baby
21. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
22. Raise Your Hands

Encore:
23. Blaze Of Glory
24. Bounce
25. Bad Medicine
26. Shout

Some of it they said was valid though. Acoustic songs can still rock, yet when Bon Jovi plays acoustic stuff they make it very ballad orientated which makes the show rather slow. The crowd needed to wait for 15 songs until they got what they wanted, which is wrong. Had the performed more uptempo songs in the acoustic set the band would've gotten a lot more appreciation for turning their shows into something special.

That said, I wouldn't complain if I'd have gotten a set like this. The acoustic/electric shows were among the best of the Bounce tour.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Yeah, it's a good set Seb ! The thing is just that for me Bon Jovi is a rockband. If you choose to play the half set with slow songs there is a risk that when the electric part of the show comes the real atmosphere ain't there.

No 13 acoustic songs is to much. I have nothing against the Have a Nice Day set lists in North America. They played 3 acoustic songs a set at those shows and that could have been cool. What ruined those sets for me was that they played the same acoustic songs every night. The switched Bed of Roses and Always some times.

And the acoustic versions of Blase of Glory and I'll Be There For you were two big sleeping pills.

Hmmm, I just watched the video... I actually think the shows will be more special than those Pru residency. A whole acoustic night is nothing I would want, too. At those Bounce gigs they played some interesting acoustic songs at least. I wouldn't mind getting "Love For Sale" or "Something To Believe In". I'm actually thinking about getting a ticket now. Since I'm going to the Paris show London would just fit perfectly. A nice little summer trip with one or two concerts... hmmm...

I don't know about that setlist but I very much enjoy the Kiel show in 2003.

I am afraid acoustic for Jon means TLFR style.

If so, I hope my concert won't include any "acoustic" songs!

TAALS is actually a lot harder to sing than BOR or Always. TAALS is in the higher register throughout, BOR and Always have "breathers" in them.

I'm not going to the O2. But if I were, I would hope to see the whole Slippery played. There aren't a lot of notes Jon couldn't pull off if he wanted. But I still think it won't happen.

Why not playing the most famous album? When Jon says "whole albums will be played" I think lots of people hope for Slippery. It obviously won't be the 7800 - album (sadly) which Jon hates I assume. If they played New Jersey from start to finish I would even think about buying a ticket ....

Default whole albums

You know what, if I had to plump for what 2 albums might be played whole I would go for 'The Circle' and 'New Jersey'.

Obviously not going to do first 2, 'Slippery' has too many notes jon couldnt get, not sure that Jon would think the fans would want 'Faith' and he obviously hates (or thinks we hate) 'These Days'.
As for the post 2000 albums dont think any of us would want them played whole so that leaves those 2, with, for me, 'Slippery' as an outside number 3, mainly because its short.

If I had to pick I would say 'These Days' would be a dream come true and 'New Jersey' a worthy 2nd. wouldn't turn my nose up at 'Slippery' or 'The Circle' either though.

I doubt that he hates TD as it contains a lot of songs that Jon wished to be hits but haven't been
