I have wanted to see the band open with Have a Nice Day for ages. What a good opener that would be. A hit as well as an energetic song.

God, Bad Name is so much better when its not first in row. And I agree, HAND would be awesome opener, though someone mentioned Its my life, I think it would be downgraded that way, because it is the major hit and not so good live song these days. It should open the encore. That said, Water Made Me is a solid opening song, best song on the album, has the energy.

Yet Prayer can open and doesn't feel downgraded so maybe It's My Life would work.

I think the fact that the crowd goes silent when the song starts is not a good idea. You want the crowd energy to keep going. But the crowd is more excited at the light intro than the song itself. I love Water, it's the song I'm most looking forward to seeing live next week, but I think it's better off where it was in the set before. Bad Name wouldn't be my first choice to open with but I think it's a huge opener.

HAND would be the ideal opener. They edit the WWWB DVD to give the impression that it's the opener actually if I remember correctly. It shows Jon walking to the stage and then jumping up to it and bursting into it. Somebody in the Jovi camp seems to agree with us!

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

Runaway I think could work as well.
I'd Die For You.

There's lots of good choices. I don't have much of a problem with Water, as it's got some momentum to it, and it's not at all uncommon for a band to start a show with a new song.
We know Jon hates Fahrenheit, but I remember him bragging before the LH tour kicked off that they had rehearsed 70 songs. Tokyo Road was one of them, though I don't think it was ever played.

LYHOM on the NJ tour was the best opener of their career.

Tokyo Road was played at the very first show of the tour in Honolulu but that was it. They played Only Lonely a couple times the rest of the tour, I think 3-4 times total.

No doubt that since Richie has left the tour the band in general seem to be having fun and performances seem better.
Maybe the Richie thing was dragging the whole band down not just JBJ
