Glad to hear you got a good show. Love to see them try DC. I'm sure it wasn't the same without Richie, but I'd rather see them try things as opposed to just the same stuff every show.

The show was much, much better than expected. The VIP experience was great too, also above expectations. It wasn't cheap but it's definitely better than any regular seat in the house.

I got a signed copy of the new album, which was great because I still haven't picked it up, despite already owning over a 1000 BJ CDs. Not too bad for my first copy to be signed by the whole band, sans RS.

I also got some old Sambora picks and stuff, which was funny because it seemed like they were trying to get rid of it.

The VIP host is awesome. He played some trivia with us and despite answering a few questions correctly, I only got one prize, mentioned above (well, maybe the RS stuff counts as a second prize). I did however share my answers and helped some others get prizes. I was really hoping to win some of Tico's art. He is a much better painter than most average Joes would think. I mean, he is seriously good. The company that provided his paintings is based here in Denver so I am gonna look them up and try to get some of his stuff for my house.

The only reason I attended was because my wife's never been to a show of this scale. I've seen BJ so many times that it didn't really matter to me, I am more interested in hardcore metal these days.... Yet.... they were surprisingly very, very good. They haven't sounded good on any of their recent TV appearances (mostly JBJ) so I had very low expectations, but they pulled it off beyond just "well". I missed Richie because he is Richie, and no VIP crew member would tell me anything about what's up, but Phil X is just as good, if not even better and more improvisational live than Richie. Still, the old comfy shoes still make me happier than the fresh new expensive shoes, you know?? Without Richie, it felt like this was Jon's solo band, despite DB, TT and HM being right there.... The band was solid live, very good and even Jon sounded like a pro! Even the crap that sounds awful on CD, like anything from Lost Highway, sounded fairly decent and fun live.

Next time, I'm going as high as I can with the VIP passes because I want to be in the front row pit so my wife can finally touch Jon's ass and get off my back about it.

I hope to catch them somewhere in Europe this summer. And I also hope that by then Richie rejoins!

BTW, I have tons of video so I will try to post something.

The set list was great for me as a fan, but my wife didn't know half the songs. Still, she had a blast. I missed Always but heard it the last four or five times. Tonight was the first time since the 90's i caught Jon singing Ill Be There For You....

More to come....

It will return for Europe as the crowd react positively to it. God knows why...

/Because of the backstagers at the front starting the hand motions. And people in Europe are sheep and will mindlessly follow suit, no matter how bad the song is.

So Dry County appears. You can tell the American leg is nearly over and almost the European leg............
