I don't think he really has a choice. When the lead guitarist is missing, which I'm fairly sure the majority of the arena knew one way or another, he has to make sure he gets the audience going to compensate. If he wants to keep those fans coming back, he needs to be exciting, especially when a big cog in the Bon Jovi machine is missing.

I agree 100%, but again, I believe if it was family, that would've been made clear from the get-go.

They have to adapt the show... I can't imagine playing Bad Name without a solo, It's my Life without the talkbox or Raise Your Hands with Bobby on lead. Playing Prayer acoustic sounds like a pretty good idea to me.

It does sound like a good idea, but Erik jumped the gun. It was just an acoustic intro - full electric (without talkbox?!) was played.

I'd imagine that Prayer is the last song. Leaving the show on an acoustic version of their most massive song does NOT sound like a good idea to me, whether Richie is there or not. I think in this situation, especially on such short notice, I think the best route to go is to do as normal a show as possible.

I'm curious to hear the hybrid version of Prayer. Anyway, this whole situation seems very strange. I, like most people, think that this is related to the same drug/booze issues as the previous times, but it seems more out of the blue.
