Just got home from the show.
I have mixed feelings. Jon was definitely on fire, but I feel like Calgary (and maybe other Canadian cities) keep getting shortchanged. I watched the Cleveland show online and I've peeked at setlists of various shows. Richie not being there should mean more, not 6 songs less than the Cleveland concert. On its own it was a great show but when you have seen them multiple times and know what a great BJ show is, it was dissapointing. When they finally played here in 2007 for the first time in 15 years it was 2 hours and done, the Circle tour show was basically Lost Highway for the third time, and now this show... no surprises. Nothing from These Days of course. No Always, no Amen, no Blood on Blood. But hey we got to see We've Got It Going On again. Ugh.
Yeah may sum up more thoughts later. I'm torn because they have been my favourite band for over 20 years and live are like no one else, but the $1600 VIP tickets (hell I paid $229 per plus the fan club to make sure I got good seats) counterbalances my love of the band. I'm conflicted.
