Jon's voice is in about it's best shape of the post-2000 era for me. Makes me only wonder more why the setlists are so static. With that powerful voice he could pull off almost every song of their back catalogue and do it justice live I think.

The version of I'll Be There For You is wicked ! Totally mind blowing ! The European shows and the NJ shows will kick som serious ass !

Wrong. Like I said... I've seen better setlists, but I saw the best, most energetic band I've seen yet in Charlotte Thursday. Lazy isn't the right word here.

One man's lazy is another man's energetic but I wouldn't pay to much attention to what jungleland says slagging the band for all the wrong things is his forte.

But it could be so much better if they just put more effort in their shows be it songwise or show wise. Those moving screens look ok but are far from sensational and were already there on the LH tour. Just bring on sth new
Anybody who follows what I have posted here for the last 4+ years knows I am anything but satisfied with these sets but at the same time, I'm over spending valuable time bitching about on a board all the time so maybe it's not as noticeable.

I'm glad I went to the concert. I get to see them 1 time a tour, so this is my 4th time to see them(all different tours). My first comment was wow! Jon is a great mood tonight, we are in for a fabulous show!! I certainly wasn't expecting Diamond Ring, and was thrilled when it was played. I thought Jon's voice was strong and they sounded great!

Since LH, is my least favorite album, I was disappointed there were 4 songs played from it.

I was in the 6th row, lower level directly across from the stage(just to the right of the sound board). The band worked hard to keep the crowd into the concert. I wouldn't say they lost the crowd, but I didn't "feel" electricity in the arena like Greensboro, NC in 2008. I think if prayer had been in the main set instead of the last song it would have made a difference.

I almost thought they would do a second encore, b/c Jon seemed like he didn't want to leave the stage.

Terri, I wished we could have met for a pre-concert drink, and sorry to hear your drive from Nashville was the pits.

I did meet Deb(bjcrazycpa) at the concert. Kinda cool meeting someone from here.

Jon's voice there is incredible. I wish he'd take more risks like that.

I love the way the same shows affect people so differently. I'm not slagging your opinion one bit by disagreeing with you here, but I was at the Greensboro show in 2008 and I did have a good time, but didn't feel much magic in the air. I felt much more into this show. And to the guy talking about not seeing them in their prime... that's all based on opinions. When I watch 80s shows I think, wow, they have lots of energy, but damn they're sloppy. They're playing that way too fast, did they just speed up? Etc. Yeah, Jon had more range, but as a musician I certainly didn't see a tighter band in the 80s. In the 90s, yeah, from video alone, which is all I can go on, that was my favorite era. But I believe they are killer now and it's gonna be tough for any show to top what I witnessed in Charlotte this week. I've seen a lot of bands, including Aerosmith, Metallica, Poison (get well Bret, seriously!), U2, Goo Goo Dolls, OLP, Kelly Clarkson, Creed, Nickelback, Fuel, ACDC and god... so many others.
