He admitted later that it wasn't the band's finest hour. I understand he had to book this concert when he didn't want to or something like that. There were moments that he was really mad in the concert. What is heartbreaking is reading the Hull thread on Jovitalk and seeing how leading up to the concert the posters were so excited and speculating about what great things Jon might do just for that show--which has become a legend in going down as the worst Jovi concert ever. All other shows that people complain about can't compare to this one.

LOL! I don't know if I've ever seen him so pissed before during a show. I don't know if it's the worst show ever though. There's probably a little UK bias going on, at least it got I'd Die For You and Richie Sambora on guitar. The Penn State show in 2011 looked really bad, a lot of the Prudential Center shows looked pretty weak (getting LH in full would suck), and I remember the Detroit show in 2008 getting bad reviews as well.

And how could I forget, the 4th Metlife Stadium show of the Circle tour where Jon hurt his leg. That one is a good contender.

The all LH show wasn't bad at all, I loved it, but then again I really like LH a lot. Plus, after those 12 songs were done it kicked into high gear with the hits! And the Metlife show wasn't bad, just not great.

Agree, I'd really like having a full album played. Specially if is Lost Highway, I love that album.

Ahem, I beg to differ. That was the most uncomfortable band performance I've ever seen. If there was ever any show that showed there were issues going on in the band it was that show. There was no way Jon and Richie entered that stage on good terms. It was also one of the worst, if not the worst Bon Jovi show I've ever seen, no flow, never sounded like a band, everything was off. It wasn't just autopilot, it was worse than autopilot. Ive never heard Richie make as many mistakes as that night or see Jon act like the prick we've all come to know by now, and his vocal performance left a lot to be desired.

So yes, in my (always) humble opinion that was a terrible show, but not everyone picked up on it either. I still remember walking out of that with my girlfriend during the encore and then meeting up at the parking lot half an hour later with the rest of the group. One came back on cloud #9 saying "Was that awesome or what?" Once the rest of the group said what we all witnessed she changed her opinion and now claims she saw all of that happen as well, while everyone who knows her knew better. It became a pattern on later shows where everyone took the piss out of her opinion.

The point is though, it kind of shows that some fans don't see the same show others see, which is fine and is what ultimately will save the band every night. If everyone heard every mistake or would detect the auto pilot Jon is on every night I doubt the band having as many fans as they have right now.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Seb, I do remember you hating this show and you are right with all the criticisms. So, okay, after you refreshing my memory, I will give you that it was bad but my threshold for terrible is if I walk out of a show and didn't enjoy any part of it and that's only happened to me a handful of times and that show wasn't one of them.

I think it was the first time that I walked out of a Bon Jovi show. The second time was on the same tour, only 2 weeks later at Foxborough, which ultimately made me decide that American Bon Jovi shows just aren't worth the hassle anymore. With me being used to European shows I reckon I've got higher standards.

All kidding aside, I can't remember you ever saying you walked out of a Bon Jovi show? If that show at Metlife doesn't make you want to leave, I kind of wonder how bad the shows were where you did walk out of.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Ha ha, well, I never walk out before it ends, even the worst of the worst like in my opinion, Cincinnati, OH on the Bounce tour. Now, that was a sucky show. Jon had a tantrum as everything was breaking down, equipment, sound, etc, and he just never recovered. Also, Soaring Eagle in August 2005, even worse. Out in the cornfields, hungover band, really short, Jon literally never moved from the mic..ha ha, and that was my birthday!! TERRIBLE!

To be fair, I always say/think the same thing - I hate that false ending on Bad Mx. Gets the same reaction from me as the ''Alrights'' on Who Says..

But yeah, Jons really grumpy throughout that Hull show and its a dull autopilot performance for sure, but surprisingly vocally he sounds ok compared to this tour.
And like Seb said above, plenty of people have different experiences at a show and I have read and spoken to people who were at that show who enjoyed it a lot. They just don't know any better

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

Agreed. On paper, the all LH show looks bad, but it was really solid show, and the second half set was great. Certainly the best of the Pru shows that I saw. Gotta disagree on the MetLife show though. That was one of the worst shows I've ever seen in general, not just Bon Jovi.
