yeah i was there.. and before the show was hell.. it was 15,000 people standing outside(they wouldnt let us close to the building).. and there were cops and staff everywhere keeping the crowds away.. nobody would say A WORD as to why they wouldnt open the doors.. eventually it got around there was a bomb threat and we saw K9 units walking around..
it was total kaos getting into the building because all 15,000 people were at the doors at once. i got in fairly early and saw about 2minutes of daughtrys LAST song so i missed all of that (he performed before half the people were in the arena yet)

jovi got on about 10:30pm? and gave me an upsetting setlist.. but out of the 4times ive seen Bon Jovi in concert, THAT was probably the best. for what they did play they rocked the hell out of it.. though i did expect a little something special for waiting 3 hours on my feet outside in a huge crowd. very upset to hear only ONE encore song.. oh well

In light of the events there'll be no setlist complaints from me tonight.

Aloha !

Here's the explanation from bonjovi.com

The crowd waits outside the BankAtlantic Center to enter for a Bon Jovi concert after they were not allowed in following a bomb threat.

A bomb threat forced police to evacuate the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise where a Bon Jovi concert was scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in to search, keeping thousands of impatient fans outside the arena until about 9:10 p.m.

When Bon Jovi came onstage shortly after 10:45 p.m., he told fans: ``I want to thank you for sticking around. It's sad but true but we now have to be aware of our surroundings. When the call came in during sound check, the police chief said it was serious. I want to thank the men and women in the police department.''

Earlier, after an announcement that the concert was delayed, the concert-goers started chanting, ``Let us in!''

In the meantime, concert-goers milled about outside the arena, hoping for the best. Some played Bon Jovi music from their cellphones and sang along.

Miami Herald news partner WFOR-CBS 4 reported that Sunrise police received a phoned-in bomb threat from someone who said two bombs would blow up the arena around 7:57 p.m.

''We're concerned for the band and our own health, but we want a show,'' Diane Elyard, who traveled from Central Florida for the concert, said outside the arena.

She said they had been waiting to go inside since 6 p.m.

West Palm Beach residents Cindy and Jeff Burger came to celebrate their 26th anniversary. It was their first time at a Bon Jovi concert.

''We were looking forward to having VIP tickets, to get see the show and enjoy food and wine while we watched,'' said Cindy Burger.

Other fans wanted to know more about what was happening.

''They could have given us some more information,'' said Jane Scanlon, who said she had been waiting for two hours. ``But what are you going to do?''

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Accordingto the article, someone said it was "painfully slow getting back inside", and people just wanted it to be re-scheduled. If they were gonna cut it short (which they did), they should have rescheduled.

Really sorry to hear about this, why they hell should we have to worry about bombs etc. Life sucks sometimes.

Credit to the band for still doing the show and to the fans for sticking with it.

It does however look as if we are back to a lazy (do it with your eyes closed) set list for now, although I can't be too harsh on tonights under the sad circumstances.

Also like to add - Shit like this makes me sick. People that do shit like this need to have the living piss beaten out of them with a rubber hose. This is gonna sound ****ed up, but people like this to me, are like online identity thieves. They're the lowest common denominator. They're too pussy to actually commit a crime they would be caught for, so this is how the get their rocks off. They're not insane - They're just pathetic losers.

If anyone has a better summation of the Bon Jovi experience these days, I'd like to hear it.

That sounds pretty lame to me. I eat before a show (any show) and I don't drink - anything. I refuse to have to go to the bathroom and miss a minute of music. I just don't get the people that miss half the damn concert waiting in the beer line. I can drink at home - or after the concert if I have to.

I think the fact that considering the circumstances there was any setlist at all, makes this a pretty successful night. It's easy to say reschedule but I'm sure there were people there that couldn't have come back another night and after keeping people waiting for 3 hours I think the least smart thing would have been to call off the show.

People that do this kind of thing just suck!!! I'm sure someone thought it was funny and probably enjoyed standing out there watching all the chaos. lets hope they were stupid enough to call from a phone that can be traced. I'm with Danfan on this one someone deserves a good whipping for this .
