I can't agree with this. Reason being that he doesn't pick the easiest vocal songs. He takes some difficult ones, drops the key, and makes the crowd sing the high parts. The last two albums were written with easier vocal parts in mind. Probably why there are so many shitty songs on them. Which he doesn't do many of. I'm actually surprised he doesn't sing more off the newer albums when it comes to easy songs. He still picks the songs that he has to, to cater to the lukewarm bullshit Bon Jovi fans.

His voice had a few glory moments tonight, but was mostly weak.

The songs off WAN are vocally easy though. I think it's more fear. Whatever I, or anyone else thinks of Lost Highway, it's the band's last "successful" record. Therefore I think Jon has fallen back on it the last two tours when The Circle and What About Now have failed to explode.

Not for Jon though. There's no way he can pull of Pictures Of You or Beautiful World without getting out of breath or just going flat halfway through. Even a song like Amen, which would have been a piss take for him just 10 years ago is too hard for him nowadays.

The reason Jon picks these songs is because they demand the least from him and go over the best. He doesn't need to go the extra mile to try to win over a crowd with them, they do the trick in his book.
