Hello

I am new to this board. My name is Rani (hello BECKYYYYYYY, How are you? remember me from atlanta concert in 2003?)

I went to Atlanta show with My Boy friend, Just came back from 3 hour drive.

It was the best concert yet. Really amazing.

Jon started the show from floor. He was right next to me. I did not even realize that he was on floor. I was looking for him on stage. Anyway then i ran toward him, they played "Last Man Staning". When Jon finished that song he threw his Guitar Pick near his feet. I picked it up . Then while going back to stage, i touched his hand. (Boyfriend was not happy with my behavior) .

I really Liked all of the songs, besides "I be there for you". I love Richie But i like when Jon sings that song.

what a great night.

Cant wait to see them again.

PS Becky remember me? its Rani, how are your friends? say hello to them

Rani

Default Band was tight

I'll try to post more later but here's a quick synopsis.

-The band was really tight. No sign at all of anything weird with Richie. He was into it all night.

-Setlist was pretty standard. Several cuts off the new album, LMS, HAND, Complicated, Last Cigarette, WTWYA, Story of My Life.

-Band sounded good but at times the sound really sucked. Lots of feedback during Bed of Roses from the crowd.

-IBTFY was cool except for the Disney Electric Light Parade keyboard part.

-Jon was in a good mood. Cut up with the crowd a good bit.

-Coolest part of the show was during Wanted. A girl ran on stage and grab Jon as they were about to go into the second verse. Jon hugged the girl and motioned for Richie to step up. Richie sang the entire second verse by himself with Jon re-joining for the chorus. Very cool to hear Richie's solo vocal.

-The show wasn't short. Clocked in at about 2hrs 30-40 min.

-To me the band was much better than the last two tours. They didn't go through the motions last night.

Only problem was the sound in a couple of places. Other than that, great show.

not trying to argue, but the show clocked in right under 2 hours 20 minutes (about 2 hours 15 minutes of actual music - not including the PA intro song or the encore break period).

i do have a couple of questions for Steeler5812 :

1) what do you mean about the sound sucking? i thought it was decent (not fantastic, but then i've never been too impressed with the sound in sports arenas).

2) what is the reference to there not being anything wierd with Richie? please excuse my ignorance, but i'm out of the loop.

i have to agree with yomamasofat, the encore was pretty weak.

overall, i thought it was a very enjoyable show. not sure if i enjoyed it more than the show i saw 3 years ago or not, though...

You were probably right about the time. I probably looked at my watch wrong.

As far as the sound, these thoughts are just my opinion:

Early on Jon's vocals were a little muddied. Instruments were way out front.

Pretty significant feedback in a couple of spots, especially Bed of Roses. That was painful.

Finally, I thought there was too much "high end" in Jon's voice. I would have liked a little more bass there.

As far as Richie goes, there was a thread referring to him being somewhat disconnected on stage. I didn't see that at all last night.

Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a great show. From the band standpoint they were very tight and really into the show. They seemed like they were having fun. I didn't sense that on the last tour.

I definitely agree about Keep the Faith. I'd have loved it if they had dropped Sleep When I'm Dead and Captain Crash and added KTF and These Days.

All-in-all a great show. I'm probably being overly critical about the sound but when you're crew has worked as many shows as these guys have and have played this arena a few times before, those things shouldn't happen at $90 a ticket.

I totally loved the show. The only real disappointment was no Keep the Faith. They need to replace Last Cigarette with KTF! LOL. I was happy to hear Just Older! That song hits closer to home with each passing year. Jennifer Nettles coming out was great! I love WSYCGH to begin with, and especially the duet version with her. It was funny...the girls next to me were "arguing" over whether or not she would be there before the show started. I guess she lives in the Atlanta area???? The best part, was when Jon was on one of the catwalks...I couldn't really see what was going on, but all of a sudden, Jon say's "It's not scratch and sniff baby!"!!! I lost it. He was laughing so hard he couldn't even sing the next line.

Bring on Tampa!!!

What a great line, I would have lost it too. Sounds like you had a good time Jenn.
