That sounds like a great show just looking at the setlist.

Would like to hear more about the "Boss Jr" thing. It's funny. That's pretty insulting to Jon and the boys though - you work hard for 20 plus years, craft your own sound, a great discography, establish yourself as a mammoth touring entity, weather trends and fads, only to be called a knockoff of some other guy that came from your state.

Anyways, what an awesome show!!!!

Wow nice setlist. Sounds like a great show... thought that was a great encore. I don't get the Boss Jr thing- I guess I didn't realize there was some law that only one musician or band is allowed to be from Jersey. People need to grow up.

Hmm Peace Love and Understanding... no idea how that song goes.... I loved Won't Back Down~ but I can't comment since I don't know this other song.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Sorry, but if the guy paid the billion dollars for the floor seat near the stage and makes a sign that says Boss JR, Jon is the one who needs to grow up. There is nothing outright profane about it, and he may have actually meant it as a compliment for crying out loud. Nearly anyone else in this world would have seen that as a giant compliment. How can someone honestly, in front of thousands of adoring fans who paid gobs and gobs of money to see him and his band, be so vein, yet unconfident, that they have to throw some little weasle out of the crowd? I hope they refunded his money and paid for his plane ticket home and his hotel. He paid to get in. I put up with all sorts of garbage at shows I go to because that is life. I think Jon is a big enough man to deal with it too.

And speaking of lacking confidence--the setlists still suck (there really isn't much change in them, we've all just gotten so used to no change at all that we say this is great). I am glad to here ITA is here to stay, but still not a single these days hit and minimal things from Keep the faith. These boys need to be the man band they always joke about being and play at least some of their other great songs for fans who pay their bloated ticket prices. Stop being so lazy. I know it will involve...oh, I don't know...rehearsal, but trust us, it will be worth it.

I'm bored with this band.

It does seem a massive overreaction but there is mention on Backstage that this guy was also shouting out some insults during the show.

really wish i hadn't looked in this thread to see the setlist. now i'm really wishing i had tickets and had gone... looks like a MUCH better show, setlist-wise, than the two i've gone to this tour.

freaking.a.

p.s. if it's true that Jon got in a tizzy over a sign with the inscription "Boss Jr," then he's got a serious prima donna complex.

Who would pay 150 dollars for a floor ticket only to harass the band and ridicule them? Not only is it 150 dollars, but a night of your life and pain on your ears surrounded by people you dislike.

I would have to agree that Jon couldve done something else. However, were all human. ALL of us have done something we would regret at some point.. all of us have not been the bigger person. Also there are the rumblings of him shouting things all night and that it was a flip book that he couldve been writing other things on.... AND that he and his date or whoever had vintage Tshirts on.

As far as the set list there are some things I have come to realize.

1. The rumored stadium tour this summer should have the other songs we want. (Just as the Bounce Tour)

2. I do think that it is more than mandatory that we hear the small acoustic set and the HAND selections as our favorite band (thank God) is not a greatest hits band. I think a few more box set selections are in order... as I am all about bands playing things that have been out after the last tour. (But its hard to fit all three plus oldies in)

3. We unfortunatly live in a country where the casual music fan likes some Bon Jovi (if I had a dollar for everytime someone says "I like the old stuff." With that in mind, Im sure there is a ton of pressure for the guys to play what the casual fans want to hear... I mean, really, how many of us hardcore fans make up the total audience...

4. Europe will get better concerts always... Theyre the ones who made songs like the following top 10 singles: Somthing for the Pain, These Days, Something To Believe In, JBJ and Richie Singles, Real Life, Say It Isnt So, Bounce, etc. If only they were still as poplular with the rest of the country as they are with us!

I guess the scary part is I think that if Mr. BJ listened to us and played some of our "Dream Setlists" I think the casual fan would get pissed off... Hard to continue touring when you piss off your casual fans (your bread and butter)

Looking forward to the possible summer tour...

excellent points, jediwk. i agree with the general premise of your post 100%. that's how it is with a lot of bands (U2, Rolling Stones, Springsteen, Bon Jovi, etc.) - they have to have about 75% of the concert be essentially a 'greatest hits' type setlist. the vast majority of people i see at concerts by bigger bands have NO CLUE when the band plays a b-side, or a track off a less popular album from 10+ years ago. perfect example: In These Arms at the Nashville show two days ago. as i looked around the arena, most people had dumbfounded looks on their face, as though they had no clue what it was. another example: when i saw U2 last November, and they played "The First Time" off their not-too-popular album titled "Zooropa," it was easy to tell that the majority of people in the audience had never even heard the studio version of that song before.

it pretty much stinks, for diehard fans, that things work that way. but that's just how it is, unfortunately. this is why i give HUGE props to bands like Pearl Jam, who really do change up their setlists quite a bit from show to show. a buddy of mine saw three Pearl Jam shows in 2000, and he counted it up that over the course of those 3 shows, he heard 60+ different songs. with a band like U2 or Bon Jovi, the number of songs they do per tour - including the one off songs - is probably in the 30s (if that much, for U2).

again, it sucks for diehard fans - who would kill to have a show where 3 or 4 songs were "live performance rarities." but they (Bon Jovi) are catering to the vast majority of people, who may only own the last album or two + "Cross Roads," and hoping to sell the most recent album to any of said concert-goers who don't already have it.

For people that don't know, Bruce sang Peace, Love and Understanding at all his Vote for Change concerts in 2004. Perhaps that's where the Boss Jr came from.
