Well I have much more to tell about the Boss JR thing but as far as the show, I would agree with most that the set list was not great. but what do I know I am hated by Jon now I am no longer a fan. I was yanked out of my seat by one of Jons gones! This guy grabed me up off the floor by my belt loops and pushed me all the way out of the civic center!

It truly is a sad thing to see but at the same time, more thought should have been put into the Boss Jr. thing. Yes the sentiment was genuine but it could easily been taken the wrong way. Im not saying it was right for him to kick you out but the sign was not a good idea.

At the end of the show, during the curtan call {forgive my spelling} and I'm new at this web site- before the last song (WANTED) the hole band was front and center taking bows. Jon made eye contact with me and the sign, he was shakingwis head no- Jon walked up to the front of the stage, flung a gitar pic leaned off the stage and flicked me a bird whith a strange look on his face! WOW OH MY GOD!
JON BON JOVI WAS POed at me! I was embarased ( this was not my intentions) Shocked by the moment ! I started to shot a bird back but quickly puled my hand down in fear of thousands of screaming fans! Jon then stormed of stage verry upset by my reaction. All the fans around me turned and asked me what did you do? What did your sign say? I did not know if hundreds of girls were going to gang up on me for pissing off the boy! My heart was beating fast. My wife wanted to leave! I calmed her down and said lets enjoy the last song. The next thing you know one of Bon Jovi's thugs grabed my pants, and my feet were hanging in the air!! "ware is the f-ing sign" he said. before I could tell my BIG FAN wife I was pushed all the way out of the stadium! The hole thing embarased me greatly. We went from an elbow to elbow concert to all the lights on, nobody within 10 feet of me every one looking at me then I was almost shure I was going to get my but kicked by security! JON has som growing up to do! I know you all love him but, me and my wife don't NOW

Wow..interesting. Jon had every right to be pissed, IMO...but I don't see a sign as a reason to throw someone out. Jon wasn't being threatened, he wasn't flipped off first...it really doesn't make sense to me.

I love the music. I don't "know" him, so I can't say that I love him too.

Gprust

Thanks for your messages, its great to actually hear your side of the story.

I think its terrible for what happened to you. I would have been mortified.

I have never met the band but in the 10-12 years i have followed them all very closely and never heard of something like this happen before.

I cannot believe Jon did what he did over a sign, any fan would know Jon did/does idolise Springsteen. I believe they are/or were very good friends. I cannot believe how he reacted to that sign. to Humiliate one person plus he cant be too impressed with himself of how he handled the situation. I can understand if the Sign was swearing or calling him a %*"!ing Gay Poof or something (not my words just and example). but to say Boss JR is just saying he is as good as a Legend.

What has annoyed me over the last few years, is his confidence, Watching the Live from London DVD/VHS 95 wembley concert and before videos he was a Rock Star. After this time he got into his Films and with this his head/ego has grown massively. I wonder if this is why he got so annoyed. somebody in one of the early threads mentioned pri madonna(sorry about the spelling) and think this is very true. im sure if somebody said this back in 95 he wouldnt have reacted in the same way. in relation to this if you watch the extra footage on the Crush DVD Richie and Jon are giving interviews and all Jon seems to want to talk about is Movies, Richies face is a picture as i have never seen him look so bored!!

Yes i understand that Jon should be seen as his own person and Bon Jovi I Believe are almost in the same catorgary as the Stones etc, but I just dont think saying Boss JR warranted what happened.

just giving my 2 cents worth

Rich

in addition to my above post.

Jon is a professional Musician, and should learn to take insults etc.

Not sure if its the same in USA but Sportsmen particular Football/Soccer players take constant abuse and im talking really obscene abuse. from the crowd all the time. and they have to put up with it. this i suppose is the downside to being famous.

I am just saying this to the people who say he was right to be pissed off. I just think he should have ignored the sign and not to have ruined the end of the show for the other 15999 people that had paid good money to see a real fun band.

Thank you for posting your side of the story. The thing is that when Bon Jovi started in Jersey, that's all that was said is that they were trying to be another Bruce. It wasn't meant as a compliment and thru the years I think Bon Jovi has proven that they are by no means trying to be Bruce. After everything they've done and everything that they've been thru especially recently with personal issues, maybe Jon was just more sensative than usual. Maybe if everything else in their life was perfect, he wouldn't have reacted the way he did. But just so you know, being called the Boss Jr. isn't taken as a compliment by many. Obviously you didn't realize that. To the comment about sportsmen taking a lot of crap from fans. Yes they do and sometimes here in the US they react to it. There have been occasions where a sports guy goes after a fan. For example in Detroit during a Pistons and Indiana game. There was a huge fight with an Indiana player punching on a Pistons fan. There have also been hockey players that have gone after fans. Sometimes people just can't hold it in and react. No one is perfect. This is just my opinion on this matter.

Sports are a completely different scenario. At a sporting event there are two teams, of COURSE one of the teams are going to get heckled.

Jon went overboard, yah, but he had good right to do so. Notice he didn't get REALLY mad until he was flipped off in return?

The fact that he said something about not winning any brownie points makes me think that he knew it was meant as a compliment.
