Totally disagree, I think that sounded rather good. I do think anytime a video is posted people just say it's painful as it seems to be the cool thing to do on here lately.

Was it perfect? No but I'd be more than happy with that performance at a concert next year.

English isn't my native language, so can somebody confirm the meaning of "Drop dead" to me? Does it mean "just go and die" ?

Jon just said he doesn't care, nothing too aggressive.
Jon did not actually respond to Roger Waters at all. That was just the writer's take on what his attitude toward Waters must be since he didn't respond, played in Israel, and clearly supports Israel by declaring that We Don't Run should be their fight song.

But "Drop Dead" means "fall over dead."

I will start by saying that I am a big Pink Floyd Fan - and have been since the early 70s. That said, Roger Waters is completely wrong in this instance.

And if he is so convinced of his actions - why does he not send similar letters to our orchestras (such as the New York Philharmonic) who play in Israel all the time. Zubin Mehta became the Music Director and Principal Conductor of the New York Philharmonic in 1978 and remained there until his resignation in 1991. Under his leadership the New York Philharmonic played in Tel Aviv many times.

The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) appointed Mehta its Music Advisor in 1969, Music Director in 1977, and made him its Music Director for Life in 1981.

So Waters is just pissed off because other rock bands play there?

No, that was painful and it wasn't good. It had nothing to do with singing at all. Jon seems to have no idea of how to hit the notes anymore and is just trying all sorts of different ways but the right one. The band is performing fine, but the singer is a mess.

You see, if you're not hearing it that's fine by me (even though rather questionable), but saying "it's the cool thing to do lately" when it's as blatantly obvious as it is during these performances kind of makes me wonder if you're not trolling on this board.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Yes. And because I've read you say the same thing about that recent performance of Always. And because you're saying Richie's on fire even when he's making mistake after mistake.

I don't mind people defending a band or performance at all when it actually makes sense in a way. What you're saying just doesn't make sense. It makes me wonder, have you ever heard a **** up by Richie? Have you ever heard a bad performance by Jon? If not, you've got to ask yourself if you're able to judge the band for what they are, and if you're the one who should be critisizing others for pointing out the errors you just can't hear. Both Jon and Richie seem to know what their incapabilities are, and Jon gets worked up about them because even he knows they're out there for the world to see.

So yeah, you're either completely tone deaf or you're trolling. Which again, has nothing to do with being the cool thing to say, but because saying something isn't so bad when it just is. When a singer struggles to hit every single note out there you just can't say that it wasn't so bad. Because if that isn't bad, then what is?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Also I can't ever ever recall saying Richie was on fire, but I stand to be corrected on that one.

I understand your point. But surely you can appreciate how much energy the performance has, and that Jon's voice is fairly decent considering how absolutely dismal it's been on performances of, say, Bad Medicine. I could live with this KTF performance moving forward into 2016.

If only Jon would mix up the setlists with songs that are easier on the vocals, or at least shuffle the arrangements on songs.

I never said you're a troll. I said it makes me wonder if you're trolling.

In regards to Always:

That's you, when someone says that rendition of Always was the worst thing he ever heard of the band. If that wasn't the worst thing, then what was?

Yeah, sure, it was a little better than recent performances. But then again, recent performances weren't exactly something to write home about either. Just because something gets better, doesn't mean it's suddenly decent. Jon's voice wasn't decent on last tour and it isn't now.

Jon hasn't been able to sing Keep The Faith for close to 10 years now. The last time he actually sang the song was in 2003. 2004-2007 was rubbish, 2008-2011 is what I'd say was decent. Anything afterwards has been shit. If stuff like this is suddenly decent then what's next? Him giving vocals like the ones on the Because We Can tour being an excellent thing?

What people do on here is pretty much saying a match lost by 10-0 is terrible, thus a match lost by 9-0 is a decent game. That's not making sense either now, is it?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
