Well, that's a little scary...and not the first time we've had planes skidded off runways in the GTA. Thank goodness no one was injured. Gotta love the wacky Canadian weather. Only in Canada can it be 12 degrees Celsuis on Friday and minus 2 with snow on Saturday.

Review from Buffalo: Jan 20th, 2006

All right back from Buffalo last night~ lots to say so bear with me. First off, I need to comment yet again on Jon's voice. I was literally BLOWN AWAY With the quality of Jon's voice... He sounded very strong, he hit every note, I heard no struggling at all. I truly am amazed at how great he is sounding this tour.. 30 shows in and his voice is still in peak form. I hope to God he never starts smoking again because I just cannot say it -enough he sounded amazing!

So a sold out show on a Fri nite at the HSBC. Jon started the show from the back of the arena at the soundboard with LMS. It was cool to see this b/c at my other show he started on stage. Right from the start the crowd was into it. The setlist chugged along with the usuals in the beginning and then came the surprise I Want To Be Loved. Want to know why this has only been played three times into the tour? Jon does not know the words!! AT ALL! He had the words taped up there and it was blatantly obvious he was reading them through the whole song LOL! He had his head down the whole time and he still messed up a little bit on it but I was happy to hear it- it was unexpected definitely!

Jon also messed up Wanted believe it or not he screwed up the words during the chorus and I couldn't help but laugh... Richie sang lead on this one again. Speaking of Richie he was ABSOLUTELY ON FIRE TONITE!!! When I saw them in Albany Richie was not into it (there's a whole thread about it) but yesterday damn Richie was having a great time. He was interacting a ton with the crowd- smiling and laughing all night, moving around, it was the Richie we all know and love. I was so happy to see him back to his usual self. Also Richie has a new guitar that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE- it's white and red with these stripes and asterics ** and his initials RS on it and it is so frieken cool- he used it on Bad RX and Wanted... I wish I could post some pics cuz i got some amazing ones but damn it is a sweet looking guitar!

I can't believe I am saying this but I actually liked the TLFR set this time... again it was because of Jon's voice.. IBTFY was much better this time around for me.. they extended it a little longer than usual and Richie was really getting into that one. I love Blaze... and even enjoyed BOR - I was really listening to Jon's voice on that one and again I can't believe how good it sounded. Wonder why they have stopped doing Always though - they used to rotate it but now 5 straight shows BOR...

As far as the encore I saw the original setlist. They completely changed it up. The planned encore was supposed to be Welcome, Blood, Treat Her Right, and Wanted. Audibles were I Got the Girl, Bounce, and Sat Nite. And we ended up getting Capt Crash and Just Older- WHY JON WHY???? This was a little disappointing - I am wondering if Jon was getting tired at this point and chose the easier songs to do. I was really hoping for Blood again but it makes my one time seeing it all the more special.

Fave moments I have to say were I Won't Back Down- even though it is a cover it was done with so much passion I nearly cried.. and Welcome was amazing.. again sung with so much feeling. My two highlights of the night for sure.

Just a few comments about HSBC and some fans there last night. Well HSBC was a nice arena but security sucked!! People who did not have front row tix moved to front row and hung out there all night. I started out row 3 but when everyone charged the stage I moved up right behind the barricade because I literally had zero room in my spot and couldn't see even though I was row 3... I wound up literally smack dab in front of RS all nite.. which was fine by me! I felt like I watched him alot more than Jon last nite but I couldn't help it ~ he was on fire and I was so happy to see that!!!

As for some fans there well there were some cool ones. A woman in front of me had a pic of Jon tattooed on her back and had this sign that said "Jon I've got your back" and he saw it which was cool. Oh yeay I held up my brother's New Jersey Jean jacket and Jon saw it and acknowleged it like "Cool you got one of those? - me too!" But some other fans I was really annoyed with- first of all half the people in the front row did not sing along to any of the words- they were all radio winners and a few I swear to God did not even smile once all nite. I asked this one girl who was a radio winner who got the setlist because she had pit passes to look at her setlist and she was so bitchy acting like I was going to steal it or something. She was like u can see it but u can't touch it. I wanted to be like yeay i can tell it is so important to you seeing as you didn't even know a word to any of the songs. Another girl there had this boquet of roses. She had front row and a sign. I asked her What does your sign say and she was all bitchy and was like I don't want anyone to steal my idea you can't see it. I was like um... okay... She was not a nice fan either, I told her FYI Jon doesn't like flowers he's allergic and she acted all snotty... I was like sorry I was just being friendly then someone else told her the same thing about he flowers and she turned into a real bitch! I saw her throw them up there and JBJ left them right at the stage and didnt acknowledge them or anything.. haha serves her right.. she was a snot! But damn did it irk me to see people front row who don't even know the words to Prayer... come on- that's just WRONG!!!!

Jon was in a good mood tonite.. his battery pack came out during one song early in the show and I was like uh oh I bet he's pissed.. he was near the pit and he was trying to get a fan to help him. No one would and then finally a girl did and he said something like All these girls in Buffalo out there wanna get their hands down my pants and now that they got the chance and no one will help me or something like that..

Overall it was a fun show! Loved how Jon introduced Richie at the end as the Pride of Woodbridge, New Jersey!! The band sounded tight, Richie was phenomenal, and did I mention Jon's voice? LOL!! If anyone can tell me how to add pics as an attatchment I can try to do that for you guys because we got some really REALLY good ones!

Those going to Toronto have fun tonite... thank God the band made it there in one piece. Any other questions that my insanely long review didn't cover feel free to ask - I'll be on here off and on all day.....

Awesome review Lizz! I’m still LMAO on the “girlfight tonight” paragraph. “I was just whistling that tune." lol.

In regards to posting your awesome gig pics:

Method A:

1. Post a Reply
2. Go to “Additional Options”
3. Click “Manage Attachments” under “Attach Files” section.
4. Click the “Browse…” button to find the pic on your HD you want to upload
5. Then click the “upload” button
……Upload file size is limited to 39.1 KB.

Method B: (I use this method for all my pics posts)

1. Upload each pic to: http://www.imageshack.us/
a. Click the “Browse...” button to find the pic on your HD you want to upload
b. Then click the “host it!” button
c. On the next page go to the URL line that says “Direct link to image”
d. Highlight and copy the URL line for example: http://img475.imageshack.us/img475/1...jovi0047ui.jpg

2. To post your incredible pic add

so in the example it would be

(Don't put ** in front of the http. I did this so the image wouldn't post and you could see the whole post line.)

If you have any problems or need some photos reworked, just PM me.

Awesome review, Lizz!!! I know what you mean by the people in the front rows. My friend and I were watching the Des Moines concert and most of the people only appeared excited when the band played It's My Life. If I were in the front, I'd be singing and dancing along.

You have to realize that some people like that song (yes - I know - I think it sucks too). At the second show at Continental that I was at, there were a group of 4 guys directly in front of me. They were somewhere between 21-28 years old I'd say - they had to be over 21 they were drinking arena beer. These guys knew every word to every song that was sung - including the new songs - but when I got the Girl started playing they went absolutely nuts. They loved it - go figure. Different strokes and all that.

You should have turned around!!!! I swear about 80% of the arena was just standing still not singing or dancing! It was the most bizarre thing I have ever seen!!!

The only times I turned around was during LMS when Jon was in the back and I thought the place went nuts. Also when Jon went into the crowd during the TLFR set everyone got excited for that too. I was just shocked that people in the front row couldn't sing along to even the really well known songs.

As for my pictures.. thanks for telling me how to do it. I have to get the cord for the digital camera to plug it into the computer and it's not at my house so after I do that I will try my best to post some (probably tomorrow). I am a little worried that they are too big becuase my pics from Albany that I have saved on my computer are bigger than the maximum kb size- but we'll see i'll try my best...
