Deb I think those opps it's bizarre I hear his voice but he has no mic you notice it way better watching a video.. really live your ability to see that are poor (this is why they do it if they do it's because they 'know' it's almost unnoticable)

you cannot really notice pink enrique iglesias madonna and even adam lambert or jon are 'helped' with serious back vocal and not that back vocals at shows because you are there to enjoy the show not to check on the quality

but if it is common knowledge that artists that dance and that have a very sophisticated music and arrangements on stage do it it's less common to see that artist that don't dance and are more on the rock side do it too ...

I'm not really overly concerned with the "help" to just beef up the sound. We've all heard Jon sing with nothing but him and guitar. And more bands, like Nickelback, are using this help so they sound as close to the record as possible live.

I would have never caught this on a live show. When I attend a show I'm there for the music and to watch the band play, not to look at Jon's lips movements, LOL. I noticed it because it was a part of the live stream, that showed one of those close ups of him.

My previous reply was directed to your post, so I want to say sorry if it came across as rude, but as I explained I'm used to be put in similar position most of the time, my comments (among my friends) always require "proof", they are fan(atics), not me
