Yes, it is about the money first. If there's money to be made promoters are willing to invest as the band will get their fee. If the band won't get their fee a show won't take place.

No, they're not. Like I just said, big markets are those with steady income. As of now, Norway's become a big market. Last tour they did 2 shows there in front of 45.000 people and made 6 million. They'd have to play in front of 90.000 people in Eastern Europe to make the same money.

But still, again, for the third time, attendance figures don't really matter when the final gross per show is the same.

What do you think costs more? Travelling your stage 3.000 kilometers for 3 shows or traveling your stage 1.000 kilometers for 3 shows? Driving an entire production to Eastern Europe takes 2 days. That's 2 days you'd have to pay a crew while they're essentially not doing much but travelling. You completely ignore logistics.
