I mean, even one semi-decent "120% performance" (BOR, LYHOM, IBTFY, Saturday Night etc.) would be enough to save the show from being a complete train wreck for me. I know very well how bad Jon's vocals are for the most part, but by now pretty much everyone of us - besides you of course - have lowered our expectations down to a level where marginally better-than-average versions of those songs sound somewhat decent. Or can you say that he can't hit a single note here?

He has no proper singing range left anywhere but in his low register, and his forced, whispery tone is painful to listen to, but at least he can still shout the chorus of BOR on key... And that's better than nothing - right, Seb?

As shit as they now are the band and JBJ do seem to raise the bar for Europe - especially London.
My only fear is the the 2nd night in Ireland will sound crap - as not originally planned - and that filters down to UK Tour.

Has anybody who booked for Wembley, opted for the £45 "nose bleed" seats. as these appeared on Wembleys website, then disappeared. yet cant find anyone who has one! Were they ever available, or are they yet to be put on sale, as, owing to my budget, thats all I could afford, otherwise it'll be try my luck 5 minutes before showtime on the day, with the spivs, and I'd rather avoid that!

Without wanting to warm it all up, I don't think it's his range or that he's especially shouting here, it's just weird. The high parts in the chorus sound good, the rest is dreadful. But yeah, something like this would at least make me not feel all bad about the show, especially when being there in person.

They seemed to "sell out" but chances are they will keep dripping in more of the cheaper seats once the dearer ones sell out.

Definitely worth just always checking in with See / TM / Gigantic to see if any more appear. Also, some may go up on Twickets for resale (face value or less only on there) so deffo worth all of those before the Wembley touts.

I wouldn't recommend sitting at the back face on to the stage, the sound took an age to travel when I saw Muse there, best to be side on where possible.

I have not lowered my expectations. I know what to expect, it's going to be shit, it's going to be nothing like any other Bon Jovi show I've ever seen before and it'll be the worst Bon Jovi show I'll ever see.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If you've got to shout a note for in order to be in key you're not singing. I want a singer to sing, if I'd like to hear a guy stumble through Bed Of Roses the way Jon does I'd go to some karaoke bar at the Philippines. Chances are there's people doing a better job at Bohol than whatever Jon comes up with on stage.

You lot however seem to raise your expectations with every single "high" note Jon reaches. I'm saying high in quotation marks as hasn't hit a high note over 5 years now but still, you're posting videos of Jon pronouncing the odd sentence somewhat right and think he's still got it so your show might just be good.

If, out of a 2 hour performance, you need to search for something good, the overall performance just isn't very good. For every good note he belts out chances are there'll be at least 10 songs sounding dreadful. I've no idea why anyone would think differently and buy tickets thinking his or her show will be good.

Nah, they really don't. Most shows in London have been among the worst of the European leg of said tour. Closing Wembley in 2000? Standard show. Bounce tour? Standard setlist with a crappy encore. It was long, but really wasn't very good. 2006? 1 show was on full autopilot with Richie completely hammered. 2008? 2 shows on full autopilot.

Out of all the shows the band have done in London the last 20 years only Hyde Park in 2011 was a great show. Even the supposedly great 1995 shows really weren't that good compared to a lot of other shows of that same tour. The only reason people mention it is because it's documented so well. Most American shows however were a lot better. It's why I never advice any Bon Jovi fan to go see the band in London. The audiences are great but the performances are a lot better in Germany.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I have to agree with Seb. It’s going to be painful. Chicago this year was already painful. It’s a nostalgic act. I would like him to sound great but they aren’t going to top the 2013 shows which were already pretty bad. I’m seeing 4 shows next year and it’s going to be a trip through memory lane. But some of my memories will be wrecked with Jon sounding like shit and Richie not being there.

RnR shows are not opera, singers competition show or tenor singers show. If I dont get good vocal performance,I for sure will get good playing from the band and that is enough for me and I am not lowered expectations down,I am just enjoy the music,it is not a freaking science. Same thing, vocally wise, you could say for Gillan from Deep Purple and Coverdale, they are bad at singing, but both bands play very good and it is overall good show.

So your description is basically saying that you are going to lower your expectation right?

No,I always look music that way,no matter what band is about. In everything I listen I look for general feeling, thats me,I dont analyse is frontman on autopilot, can he hits the notes and so on. In the end, after show if the general feeling is good, that is good show for me.
