Did they have colds yes... have a heart people.
This. I went to school today with a horrible cold and I felt like shit. No way I could stand up in front of thousands of people and put on a show feeling like that.

after watching the worst BTBMB ever, jon's not so happy mood and seeing Richie almost knocking the mic down at the start of LYHOM, i knew it was time to call it a night. apparently it didn't get any better after that. i understand they were sick, but if it was that bad they should've cancelled the show and postpone it. i know it probably wasn't an option, after all the live stream advertisement and being the kick off of the NA leg. but as a fan, if it was me holding that ticket, i'd be very disappointed if the show was cancelled now but feel i'd be guaranteed a good show later (regardless of the setlist), than knowing i had spent a fortune on the crappy show it was.

It doesn't sound a good advert so far, they should have knocked the live stream on the head making up some technical issue and did it on another night. I've yet to see any of it but have the usual morbid curiosity to see a bad performance as well as the good, so I hope to catch up with it soon.

But they clearly need to change the show- even the casual fans who have been a few times will be bored of it, and I can barely justify taking my friends to any more as to them its the same old stuff, and they have only done 2-4 gigs. Its forgivable to be samey during the same tour, but not over the course of 3 or 4 tours visiting the same places. People are just going to skip them as they offer nothing more- that's why I'm just doing London and not traipsing up and down the country to do the others.

Regarding the setlist. I don't think anyone is asking them to change it drastically. However for a band with such a huge catelogue of music there is no reason that they can't switch up 3-4 songs of a 22 song set and play some of the obscure songs that we never get to hear. Play a song off 7800, give us a different Slippery or NJ song. How about something off of Have a Nice Day other than the title track or "Who Says you Can't go Home?" A Bounce song maybe??? Anyone remember "One Wild Night?" They did name a live albumn after it.

Someone mentioned a few pages earlier that Jon doesn't like rehearsing. Well Boo Hoo. Rough Life having to re-learn a few of your songs. Sounds like a rough job. At the prices they are charging it's the least they could do.

I don't know where you are from, but have you heard about Dayquil, Sudafed, Tylenol Cold, cough medicine, pain medicine....

I also had colds that made my feel like crap, took medication and went ahead with my day, feeling much better. They only had to feel good 2 hrs.... come on!

But was Jon sick?
I thought he made a joke about not getting too close to Richie so he didn't get sick?? I know he mentioned the kids were sick, but your kids can be sick and not you..

he said that ... to not get too close to richie so it would mean he is NOT sick ... but ppl need to have excuse for him too as he didn't sing he had to have a very good reason like : being sick
I dont think jovisoul thought he was sick she just said IF he was sick there are medication that makes you feel better especially for a short period like a 2 hours concert
