I was there too and, as you know, I've seen Bon Jovi shows before they started headlining. Certainly not the best show ever but definitely NOT the disaster those watching youtube clips and reading the set list make it out to be.

This statistic says it all really. And plus, of those 17 songs, what ones can you actually hear Jon's parts clearly? I'd say half that again.

It used to be a rare sight to see Jon on his guitar, usually just reserved for the likes of Wanted, Sleep, and a a handful of others.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

I'm not taking anything away from Jon's guitar playing abilities, but come on, he's using it as more of a prop than anything else on 75% of the songs.

shouldn't they check the key before start singing ? they're clearly in different keys when they start the chorus as they didn't have a reference tone to know what key to sing in (as the song begins with just the drums). when the rest of the instrumental kicks in, it's pretty obvious they were singing a bit off key.
That sounds to me like the off key part is someone singing along in the audience.

"He spent most of the show standing and crouching in the same spot, gesturing his hands like he was guiding a landing plane, and even when he did make his way to the circular protrusion in front of the stage, through the crowd, it was done under the cover of darkness."

How can he read that and not change what he's doing? And you know he'll read it.

better sort it out as it wont be tolerated at Isle of Wright and Slane!! They will get murdered in the press for this type of show with the 'confirming what we already know about Bonjovi' statements at the ready! I would hate to travel to New Jersey in July and find these types of shows on!!

I never post here but enjoy being entertained by just reading. I was at the show last night as I'm at most of Montreal's shows and here's my opinion:

First, the crowd was insane! The Montreal crown in itself is worth going to the concert! Jon and the band were in a very good mood. The crowd was deafening after every song played, therefore Jon was all smiles.

The setlist: Mistake #1, WLOL at #3 spot. Terrible placement. I'm not a fan of the song anyway, but seriously, #3 spot? The crowd really enjoyed wild is the wind compared to the last 2 shows as well as WWWB. Mistake #2, The fighter, Saturday Night accoustic, Army of one, Follow, and What's left of me. After driving 7 hrs to get to Montreal, I was tired and the fighter nearly put me to sleep. Nice song but way too slow. Killed the atmosphere completely. I've never been so excited to hear Wanted ever!! I hate Who says but after last night, I have a new respect for the song because it got everyone in the party mood once again.

The encore was predictable aside from Blood but the crowd was really into In these arms, it was insanity at the bell centre during that song.

Jon said aren't you glad we're not a 1980's rehash greatest hits nad like all the other jack-off bands". This was ironic because the fans went over the moon whenever an 80's or 90's hit was played.

After what's left me, Jon said that one was for me and this next one (wanted) was for you.

Richie came alive during pre-2000 solos.

Was disapointed that the big ballads or runaway wasn't played. I always attend night 1 shows with my father and night 2 shows with my wife. My dad's fav jovi song is runaway so he wasn't too happy that it wasn't performed. His exact words were" Jon is no longer a rocker but a gospel singer", because of Amen and WWWB.

Overall, it was an enjoyable show mainly because of the Montreal crowd, the new songs, and wild is the the wind. Everything else was lackluster. I hope tonight's show setlist wise include the ballads and few older songs. The crowd will be great regardless but my wife is yet to hear I'll be there for you after 4 shows.

Crowd: 12 out of 10
Jon's energy: 7/10, it probably would've been higher he wasn't always on the guitar.
Setlist: 5/10
