the title says it all. the reviewer mentions that Jon 'moved like Jagger' so at least he wasn't as still as he has been over the past gigs ?

and here's some pics: http://www.ottawacitizen.com/enterta...589/story.html
They also call it the 'Jon Bon Jovi' tour. That really grinds my gears.

Yeah, but if you are picking songs that the crowd doesn't know, what's the point? Keep the people in the seats and entertained. The talking that went on during songs from The Circle and What About Now...people weren't interested. They wanted to hear Runaway, Wanted and LOAP.

Montreal is less than two hours from Ottawa. If the die-hards in this area want a good show, they know to go to Montreal.

I agree. Being from Argentina what you said makes complete sense. It's the market from each region.

Here goes...
First off, It was pretty full, the only relatively empty sections were behind the stage.
I was expecting another shitty crowd, but it wasn’t as bad as when I saw Aerosmith. Then again, people in my section only got up from Wanted on (after jon asked them to), plus the solo was ruined by the guitar not being plugged.

The new songs and the ones from the circle didn’t get any big crowd reactions, other that the clappin for BWC and the usual arm raising for WWBTF.

Also, I don’t alot of people on here don’t like WGIGO et WSYCGO but those two songs probably got the best reaction (other than the classics) Even Keep the faith and in these arms didn’t get people shouting or standing where I was.

Overall, setlist wise, way more lows than highs, which isn’t normal for a BJ gig.

Personnally, I enjoy the songs that were played, and I really like the post 2000, but live, bj are (or used to) be about the energy and crowd participation. This wasn’t the case last night, other than a few exceptions.

I’m not sure if the casuals will go back next time, and it kind of sucks for people who got convinced into going if this is what their only image of bj live is.

My gf (who knows the songs, but prob wouldnt see them every tour if not for me, I’m in the minority who drags his gf to the shows instead of the other way around) mentionned how jon looked very uncomfortable during the encore while singing ITA and HAND (during this one, he rolled his eyed a few times and made all sorts of faces trying to sing)

I get why he doesn’t move around as much, as he’s probably concentrating on trying to hit the note, especially at the start of the tour, not being in shape, etc. In a way I felt kind of sad for him, seeing a second or two of movement, or a few jumps from jon, only to head straight back to his mic stand....almost as though the frontman in him takes over for a second, but then he realizes he shouldnt be too active, or can’t pull that off anymore because his singing would be affected.

but then again, if he’s simply lazy and fed up with performing, then screw him, he should just stop while they still have a relatively good image as a live band.

anyways, I still sort of enjoyed the show, as I got many songs I hadnt heard before. I also shouldnt of followed these PBP’s beforehand, and maybe I would of been more surprised. (like for the ktf outro, I hadnt seen it until last night, and it was pretty cool)

Basically, the show wasnt boring. As the previous 4 probably weren't. Am I used to more energy from the band? yes, but that doesnt mean it wasnt a good show.
I understand how people on here can be bored though reading setlists that are very similar.
I've come to realize that following PBP's has ruined bon jovi live for me, as when I'm at the show, I sort of (not consciously) look for mistakes, or get pissed off (not actually) if jon grabs another guitar instead of dropping it, or when they play whatever song. For example, last night, when they played LH and WLOL back to back....I was way more underwhelmed by it because I knew what was coming next. If I hadn't known, I def. would of enjoyed the show alot more as I could at least hope for certain songs.

(on a side note, i was on the side of the stage....and our projector kept blinking on and off every 10 seconds....so it got slightly annoying watchin that screen.)

Yeah, I actually am! Nah, I saw a lot more positive ones. This one stood out to me because he seemed to be a casual fan. Looking at the rest of his tweets, there were no mention of Bon Jovi but mainly Pearl Jam and other bands. I posted that tweet just because a) he was there and lets see what someone in the audience thought instead of us reading a setlist b) being a casual fan (I presume) and what do the casual fan think and c) his wording of his tweet. That seemed like a description of a concert from years ago not in 2013, judging from all the Jon is not moving around anymore but he loved it.

From other tweets and comments it seems that Jon was better last night and hopefully, he is improving. Now I'm hearing that it's his back that was giving him hassle.

Right and you are missing the most basic concept of some of the setlist complaints: they could perform the best renditions ever of all the songs listed on that setlist and I'd still be bored out of my mind. It's all subjective and it's laughable that people get upset over others opinions because they don't want to read anything negative.

Well said.

I think Bruce is around 62, now and he still moves around quite well.

Also, Bruce takes song requests. (A definite plus, imo.)

He's my other man.

Shhh... that's a secret.
