Default Raleigh Traffic

This is still about the Raleigh show, but I'm changing the pace a bit here. The traffic in Raleigh was horrendous. I have seen shows in some larger cities, but Raleigh was less able to handle the traffic than any I've ever seen.

We could SEE the RBC Center at least an hour before we ever got to the parking lot. We were backed up on the interstate exit ramp for about 45 minutes (maybe more), then it took another 15 to 20 minutes to get all the way into the parking lot.

When I have been to shows in Atlanta, Charlotte, and at Giants, we never had this trouble getting to the parking areas. I don't know what they needed to do differently, but I remember a relative complaining that Raleigh had a similar problem when U2 played Carter Finlay Stadium in Raleigh. In fact, she said that people ended up parking their cars on that exit ramp (on the side of the road) and just walked to the stadium.

Just a sidenote.

Well now I had avoided "most" of the PBP threads before I went to the show (on purpose -- so I'd not know as much about what to expect) -- and I find that Jon has been doing that "LYHOM" opening "tease" a few times already! LOL So much for him aiming that "right at me" Of course, he was just practicing for when I'd be there, right?

If you look on bon jovi.com the picture of the setlist shows Dry County to open the encore but I think they were running out of time. They didnt come on until about 8:50 and the curfew was 11. I made a Livin' on a prayer contest video and won, but they didnt send me the email for vip packages until 3 pm yesterday and I was already at the venue with no way to check my email.....Now im trying to talk Bon Jovi management into giving me the packages for a different show.
That's incredible. Hopefully they give you a package for another show, especially considering the late notice.

This isn't a great video, nor is it a song that most of us really care about. I'm posting it for grammatical reasons. Even here in the South where we aren't exactly known for our stellar grammar, someone couldn't help but correct the Jovi-grammar!

I don't like people who criticize artists on grammar. Try singing it yourself. "What have you got" is the correct grammar on paper, but it doesn't sound as good when you sing it. Just think how many songs use "ain't". A lot. I don't mind.

The thing is, what do you got sounds silly as well. It's not really an improvement.

A thing that bugs me and my friends more is Jon's grammar when he talks. How about:

"It don't get better than that, do it?"

Yes, he said that. Whenever one of us makes a mistake because English isn't our native language we follow it up with one of Jon's one-liners.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I just saw this post and wanted to say, that the traffic situation is ALWAYS horrendous in Raleigh. I'm from there and in the last 20 years with the influx of folks moving to the area (a lot from NJ and NY) the city has not been able to keep up. The arena parking is not set up all that badly as far as getting out as there are several loops but getting in is awful.
