It's sad that here no one knows him, especially for the link that Jon and Bon Jovi have with him...Bruce isn't known at all in USA?? this is the first time i'm hearing that...

And i'm not his biggest fan... anyway, let's get this thing ends...
Bruce is a legend in the states.

Anyone who says otherwise is just too young to understand/remember/care. And/or ~ Bruce's music is just not to their own personal tastes which I could never understand, but to each their own. I love both Springsteen and Bon Jovi. They are both legends in their own right, period.

If you EVER have a chance to see one of Bruce's shows, take it. You will never regret it.

In the past, when I've mentioned to various people that I'm a huge Bon Jovi fan, some people have looked at me as if I had antlers on my head.

"Bon Jovi, who is that?"

"Bon who?"

"Oh, that's that old 80s band, right ~ they're still playing shows?"

Which puts me on the defensive, then I realize that they're the ones missing out...

To be honest, I don't hear that, near as often, when I mention Bruce Springsteen. In fact, it's quite rare to get reactions, such as the ones mentioned above, when I mention Bruce.

It's not a competition, but I do believe that one should be open to giving all music a chance, and that includes various genres of music, not just the artists.

One more thing, I don't believe in putting down others' music just as I don't believe in putting down others' religion, etc. jmo.

No thank you. I had trouble staying focussed while watching what were supposedly his best live songs, I was bored watching one of his DVD's and when listening to a show of him for 2 hours straight I felt like listening to one long boring song that just went on and on and on...

I get why people praise Bruce for his energy and if his music is your cup of tea then I can imagine being delighted when he offers a 3 hour show. I will never understand however why people are so convinced others who've never gone will love it as much as they will.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I saw Bruce about 10 years ago. It was cool getting to see him, though I was kind of just waiting for him to play Born In The USA 25 times.
