Am I wrong in thinking that it looks like the main set has less songs before they go to the encore? Compared to The Circle Tour?

Last time around in Denver, we got "Runaway" as an audible (a setlist from that show is a prized possession). Also, that was when Richie was doing "Homebound Train." I hope we get a Richie song and a neat audible this time.

Literally no one was. We all want to hear the new stuff, not necessarily stuff like Amen and The Fighter at the same time, but I'd be overjoyed with 7 songs from the new album. I was concerned though with 7 new songs being played at us shows months before the album was released, the reaction was always going to be poor as the crowd don't know the songs, Jon then gets the ump and drops them all and we get the same post 2000 fillers again.

Putting the more things change in that set is baffling when you have What's Left Of Me, essentially a better version of the same song. Working Man is Jon at his insular worst. What the hell is he thinking. The show only really gets going in the encore. The only positive is the length compared to last tours 20/21 song sets.

Two gigs in a row without I Love This Town.

Things are looking up, ever so slightly.

Why weren't JonBon and Sambora prowling the catwalks or the semi-circle platform that jutted into the crowd? Neither of them uttered anything too memorable at first,
Quote:
I recall Jon being more animated at those shows, going deeper into the crowd and slapping more high-fives. His more reserved stage mannerisms Thursday paled in comparison to fellow Garden State rocker Bruce Springsteen who crowd surfed and sought song requests from fans at his show last year in the same venue.
Quote:
though I'll offer constructive criticism anyway, by encouraging Bon Jovi to move around more on stage, like they used to, or alter the pacing of the current show, weaving in more hits earlier so fans don't have an excuse to sit.
Not just us that's noticed it then.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

the main set includes roughly 3 80s songs and 2 90s songs. that says it all. by the way, I like Amen but it's clear now that everyone's noticed the song's supposed to be Jon's Hallelujah. and it doesn't getting any close.

Amen was not done, just that made that setlist more interesting for me - just THAT is a small victory - but then I saw the real setlist ... Amen and the Fighter were both there ... Amen on the usual spot (replaced last minute by Memory) and the Fighter as OPENER of the encore followed by In These Arms ... evidently Jon changed his mind .... the result is good but isn't it not as good as if from start he didn't put those songs there ?
I am amused to see the fans online be so happy to get Born To Be My Baby, as that song has always been played for years and years until THIS TOUR ... WAS IT A STRATEGY ? Remove a couple of major hits and put them back and then the fans will think wow, what a solid show ?
That show has a good encore, like Pittsburgh. They FIX the show with a fake 2 encores ( as it is programmed it is fake to me ) 6 or 7 songs long set and people think they got a major treat ... I don't know what to think.
A friend was there(at those 2 last shows), she told me until the encore the shows were close to blahhh - then - they put the encore and it is a normal Jovi pace and people leave satisfied but all in all it is just average for Bon Jovi standards ...
