They ended the main set with WSYCGH and came back and did Prayer as the only the encore.

I was watching the Yankee game while reading the board and it was absolutely pouring and thundering and lightning in the Bronx, they are in a rain delay now. I imagine it was doing the same at the concert.

I'm sure the band had something cool up their sleeve for the encore but the weather sounds like it was dangerous so they called it quits early.

I'm sure they will make it up tomorrow and probably play an extra long show!

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Hey just got back
Sat night was electric. The rain was bad but the lightning was very bad. I believe they had no choice but to stop early.

Just got back from the show.
Despite the rain and the short setlist it was a great show. Wanted dead or Alive was a big surprise appearing early in the set list. Shortly before bon jovi hit the stage it started raining briefly but stopped. The rain really started to come down along with the winds in the middle of BAD RX. The lighting was really bad. At times the lighting was just behind the stadium and was very peristant.
Jon handled it very well though. He was out on the catwalk despite the heavy rain. Me and my fiance though were one of the only few ppl that had brought ponchos (boy did that pay off lol)
After who says you cant go home the band left and came back with living on a prayer and that was it.

I was a lil dissappointed but at the same time since the rain was really coming down hard and the lighting was getting dangerously close to the stadium I could really understand why they had to cut it short.
Overall it was still a great show. I'll be back tommrow night for round 2. Hopefully they make up for it.
I took a few pixs and I will be posting them up on thrusday night.

BON JOVI - GIANTS STADIUM -- LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE
(Tuesday, July 18, 2006)
BON JOVI's long-awaited return to GIANTS STADIUM began tonight, JULY 18th, under a sweltering sun as New Jersey suffered through a heatwave. Well, leave it to BON JOVI to bring the rain and break the horrible heat... Check out the set list:

KEEP ON ROCKIN' IN THE FREE WORLD (Neil Young cover)
YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME
BOUNCE
BORN TO BE MY BABY
STORY OF MY LIFE
I'LL SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD
RUNAWAY
CAPTAIN CRASH & THE BEAUTY QUEEN FROM MARS
IT'S MY LIFE
WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE
IN THESE ARMS
BED OF ROSES (acoustic)
I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU (electric version / Richie Sambora on vocals)
SOMEDAY I'LL BE SATURDAY NIGHT
HAVE A NICE DAY
BAD MEDICINE
RAISE YOUR HANDS
WHO SAYS YOU CAN'T GO HOME
LIVIN' ON A PRAYER

Yep - that's the whole set list. The band took the stage just after 8:00pm and left the stage at about 10:20pm. They'd have kept playing but the coldfront moved in and the skies opened -- and the band isn't afraid of rain. The show in 2003 was a virtual monsoon with crew members buidling an ark backstage. A legendary concert in torrential rains is no problem. But as the lightning grew stronger and more persistent and the lightning grew closer, it became a real safety issue for the crew (especially the riggers and camera operators!) and the band and the fans. It just wasn't safe. Therefore, per the direction of venue management, Bon Jovi had to call the concert short due to excessive lightning and out of concern for public safety. We hope all of you had a great time -- and we hope all of you got home safe (if not dry.) It was a great show -- and the weather added to it but when it comes down to it, it's only rock 'n' roll and everyone's health and safety needs to come first. Thanks for your understanding. We'll see you tomorrow back in Jersey!

Even though it was raining the show was great as always. It was very hot and I noticed Jon drinking between songs more than ususal. Wish they had played one of their own songs to open. Was hoping to hear Die For You but still a good show. BOR sounded acoustic. I was glad to hear Bounce.Wish I could go tomorrow and next Saturday.
Have Fun Tomorrow.
