Makes me concerned for the Sydney show in Dec, it has a stadium capacity of 88k, no way in hell it's going to be that.

Here is an objective an honest albeit brief review.

Pure shite.

Jon went through the motions, smiling like a Ken model.

Tico, Dave, Huge and Bandiera are tight-as you would expect. Bandiera was vocally sublime and dave covered well also.

piss poor, 14 albums and to play such a short and vanilla gig...it reeks!

We've not even got an album out yet, play in pubs to ten people and we break more sweat. SHITE!

and to all those deluded saying "oh richie isn't missed...Phil X blblalbblabl" WAKE UP! the guy, although technically immense and no doubt a GREAT guy, cannot fill sambora's shoes!

Australia's economy is in a much better state than Scotland's.

Sydney will be packed.

Totally agree. From his twitter and youtube interviews, I really like Phil as a person and it's blatant that he has a great talent.

However, I'll be missing Richie the whole gig in Sydney. No long coats, no top hat, no double necked 12 string guitars, no bluesy backing vocals (or indeed Lead Vocals - usually the gig highlight for me) and no 'I just shat in my pants and it stinks' facial expressions during solos.

i came away really liking the guy but hating what the band has become.

Sorry, to quote "can't catch a fish if you ain't got a hook" -i was totally underwhelmed. Jon threw us NOTHING tonight.

I've been to enough gigs to know when a band is revved up and when they can't be ****ed....tonight was definately the latter.

According to Wikipedia, 39,756 tickets were sold on the Lost Highway tour for Hampden Park.

In the pissing rain, they still played Always and Dry County.

I know Hampden's seating capacity is just over 52 000, but the end the stage is at must reduce that figure by around 15 000.

But then there are probably 15 000 people standing so who knows

I feel bad for those who paid full whack for that-and especially those who travelled!

I think low ticket sales, together with the weather excuse and probably more than anything the fact they're playing Hyde Park on Friday meant that Jon couldn't really be arsed.
