All in all it was "only" 3 solos that Richie didn't play when I try to think back. None of them I understand. Bobby played the solos of "Have a nice Day" and "In these Arms" (both not so well) and Jon played the solo of "I'd die for You" (far from the original one which is really on fire).

I don't know what's happening... but since hearing "Garageland" live yesterday it started to grow on me... actually I want to listen to it over and over again. It's this post show feeling that makes a song shine where before you only saw shadow. Same thing happened last tour after hearing "Joey" in Mannheim with the fantastic adlip. Since then I love that one also.

Crazy. Did I really call Garageland the "most boring song on the boxset"??? Well, that must have been the other me

I was thinking about why the hell this was happening, I know I once had an argument with someone because I didn't believe that Bobby was gettting to play solo's. I kinda understand why the hand solo, maybe Richie's arm hasn't healed that well and the double necked tele was too much weight for his arm to handle, but then again I've seen pics of him with a double neck accoustic on here somewhere so I don't think my argument holds up there. Why is he getting the solo iin ITA is just beyond me, that solo really makes Richie shine on the recorded version, bobby just doesn't seem to play with enough (dare I say) "soul". I was fine with Bob and Jeff adding to the overall sound and backing vox, but that's like Dave letting Jeff play the keyboard intro to Runaway.

I gotta assume the double neck acoustic weighs much less than the electric. If Richies arm wasn't healing, I'd be right there with you but Im sure he's still in pain. A few less solos per night is probably good for him.

and what's with Jon wanting to play leads all of a sudden, did he learn to play more than that scale he always plays back and forth when he attemps to play lead.
And I'm really genuinely (sp?) courious here, I'd be glad to hear how it's sounding and if he has improved in his playing style, I've never thought he was any much worse than Bobby anyway.

Richie didn't have his double neck acoustic guitar at "Wanted" also... the weight thing sounds logical to me.

Uumm i dunno about this weight theory...The weight of a guitar doesn't really effect your playin...and i dont think it adds any pressure onto the hands/wrists....the weight of the guitar is all in the back not the wrists...dont see it as a logical explanation really...

Well as I said Jon's solo in "I'd die 4 U" was far from the original. It was basically the scale thing he does when playing a solo like "Rockin' in the free world". Don't ask me why Richie lets him play it... Thinking of Richie's extended solo in "I'll be there 4 U" which went on forever and which he didn't really want to stop health problems don't sound that logical.
On the other hand - I don't know. As he played the solos himself earlier this tour (am I right? Don't know about ITA) his arm could be the most possible reason.
