It has nothing to do with a vocal coach. It's just the abuse his chords have taken over the last 30 years. Coaching isn't going to repair the damage. Jon knows how to sing, but his vocal cords aren't able to function the way they once used to. That's all there is to it.

I disagree, he had a vocal coach for lost highway tour and he sounded so much better than HAND Tour.

He doesn't have to be 28 to sing it well, he wasn't 28 two years ago. He's having a rough time with his voice, drop it and sing something you can. Always is an epic song but I'm pretty sure there're a bunch of fans wanting to hear Thank You For Loving Me, This Ain't A Love Song or Living In Sin.

Maybe to you, I'd take any other ballad I haven't heard over Always without even thinking about it.

I've mentioned before about his facial contortions, they are a little hard to watch, like he's in pain singing that song.

It's their biggest hit ever. Can't just drop it for good, remember that Jon plays for the casuals.

OFC we would prefer other ballads.

I want them to do what Jon is always saying that they do - change the setlist nightly, change the setlist on the fly, play for 3 hours . . . . I want them to be all about the music, but they aren't, and those things are just what Jon SAYS, not what they do. It's no longer enough for me. Clearly I'm in the minority, since so many of my Facebook friends are still ecstatic after their shows.
I think many of our Facebook friends cause we do have some mutual ones just continue to drink the kool-aide. I haven't gone to a show since 11 and I have been to at least one NJ concert at the big stadium since my first in 89. I have been a fan for over 27 years and I think I 've given up on them, live. I didn't really like the last record, it grew on me but I'd rather hear older stuff. I guess I've moved on where others haven't. I can't go to Europe because of personal reasons so I'll never hear the rarity's like Terri and Kathleen did and that in many ways disappoints me. Maybe Richie decided that he wasn't drinking what Jon wanted him too anymore. If I can go to the Metlife shows, I am not sure I would. I hate my undecidedness. I guess if Detroit can't get something decent then I am not bothering.

I just saw this and want to give you a virtual high five. I'm not sorry but I hate this song with a passion as much as I Love This Town. Who Says is like my third least favorite.

Biggest ballad ever? Yes. Biggest hit ever? Arguable, at least IMO.

I think he meant biggest-selling single.
