By now we know for sure that none of that was planned. The original setlist was a lot shorter and didn’t have any “special” song. But well, things changed. Things had to change because of the amazing choreography we had prepared. I’ve seen some pictures, they are really good and useful for you to understand how it looked like. But you know, they still haven’t created a way to photograph the emotion of standing there in the diamond circle in the afternoon, still waiting, waiting and waiting, tired, thirsty and with a sunburn, and then suddenly looking at your left and just seeing for the very first time the word JOVI coming out and feeling your heart stop. Or the emotion of the moment when during the show Richie saw it, he smiled, called Jon and Jon himself stopped for a moment and then said “Oh… we hadn’t seen that yet” with a look upon his face that I will never forget. Or my pride in being there and holding up one of those little Italian flags. Or when Jon started singing Lie to me, and he could not remember the words but we all were already singing those “yeah yeah yeah” and he was speechless and made one of his cutest and sweetest smiles. Or when he grabbed the big Italian flag and put it on his shoulders. There are sooo many moments that made me cry and if I close my eyes I can still see everything.
Take a look at Jon during Always. He is close to tears. Have you ever seen him like this in your own country? No, you haven't. And you never will. Every city can try to repeat a choreography like ours now, but it will never be the same again. We are unique, we are going to remain the only ones.
Have you seen what they wrote on their facebook page? “This is one of the most memorable shows we ever played in Europe.” Yes, it is.
We all know JBJ as a superman, nothing ever stops him. Well, we did, Italy did. Face it: Italy rocked, our show has been one of the best in the European tour, we got Lie to me, we got a lot of songs. But above all, we made something completely special, than no one else had ever made before, and the guys loved it. Italian fans are unlike everyone else and it was time for the guys and for all of you to understand it.
Being a part of that, with a lot of friends, is something that you cannot buy, steel, fake or tell. On stage Jon said it was a magical night. He was right. And you know, magic cannot be seen or created by everyone: you have to be a little special to make it happen and probably even more special to see it. Italy is very special. Each and every person who was there on Sunday night, who thought, organized and gave shape to the choreography is a little wizard, and I’m proud to say I’m one of them.
And of course I’m so very grateful to the guys. They had the best reaction they could have: I was second row right in front of Richie, so I have perfectly seen their faces, their smiles, their eyes, and I can tell for sure that they were REALLY touched and surprised. You can’t pretend on things like these. Of course I will never forget what I’ve lived, but I’m pretty sure they will never forget it either.
After I’ll be there for you, Jon and Richie got back from the catwalk on stage, but we kept on singing along so he had to sing again the “uoh ooh”s.
I don’t think Jon and the guys could ever expect a thing like this from Udine. Until this night, Italy was not know as a country where Bon Jovi are very famous and loved. That’s what made the surprise even bigger. They could not believe their own eyes and ears. We’ve heard Jon had planned to start the show earlier and to make it pretty short. Oh, it seems like he changed his mind later. I guess he didn’t want to leave anymore by the end of the concert. He waved goodbye a couple of times, and then got back to us once again, with his hand upon his heart. I would say it means that we will remain in his heart for a while now. They already have a special place in our heart, but after this night it has become a little bigger, a little deeper, a little sweeter.
“I love this town” did NOT ruin the encore as somebody said. Not at all. We all know what the song means for the band and we know that they play it only in places where they really like to play. Now Italy has officially become one of those places, period.
Trying to describe the show is still too difficult for me. But you know the setlist, you’ve seen some videos, so you can probably figure out how amazing it was. They were in perfect shape, Tico is incredible, David rocked us all and I’m so glad I heard him sing In these arms once again, there are no words to describe Jon’s energy and all of the emotions he gave us, and Richie… I’m so proud and happy to see him like that, so joyful, so fit, so strong, so hot, so rock n roll. They were great and above all they were moved just like we were.
When you are such a big fan of a band, there can be times when you feel fed up or deceived. We all know the lines by Hallelujah: “your faith was strong but you needed proof”. If someone was there that night needing proof, Bon Jovi gave us one big, clear answer: they are the most amazing band ever, they deserve all of our love and support, and everything we have to do for them is definitely worth it. I’ve been a fan for more than 10 years, almost half of my life, and I don’t regret any single day. Because when I need it, they always know how to win back my love. After this concert, I love Bon Jovi more than before and I’m even more proud to be a Jovi girl.
When I was leaving Udine the morning after, I was standing alone at the station and suddenly a hard rain fell down. I was already feeling so nostalgic. Two girls sitting next to me started singing softly Bells of freedom. I started to cry once again and all I could think was: we made history together, thank you.
Now the black number on my hand has faded, but the memories… the memories will remain and shine bright forever.

THIS IS ITALY. THIS IS NOT SPAGHETTILAND. ROSICONI.

BRIVIDI LUNGO LA SCHIENA!

I'm Italian too, I was at that show and it was my first Bon Jovi concert EVER! I've to say I was lucky! WE MADE HISTORY!
Sunday night was my dream coming true, Sunday night I felt ALIVE, and I'm still feelin' ALIVE! They gave me something I was missing through these years, since 2000!
IF YOU WEREN'T IN UDINE, YOU COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT WE FELT!
Thanks to Max who organized the whole thing months ago, thanks to us, the fans, who gave the economic support needed to turn the idea into reality and thanks to the ones who run all over the stadium to prepare all the little things on Sunday! And thanks to the crowd: NO ONE STOOD ON THEIR SEATS, EVERYBODY WAS SINGING AND THROWING THEIR ARMS IN THE SKY!
Finally, thanks to the band! The gave a ****in' awesome show...

THIS IS ITALY, WE WROTE A PAGE OF BON JOVI'S HISTORY!

Instead of bother us with this non-sense comment watch some videos from Youtube and see how Jon & Band reacted.

WE DID IT
We asked to promoters for help but we had to do it all by our own.

I absolutely LOVED this show! I almost didn't make it in, because the fan club tickets that weren't picked up when the tent closed never made it to the main box office. I'd sent Paul and Kathleen in since they had their tickets, and I was desperately trying to find out where the missing tickets were when I heard English being spoken by an American. It was someone from the fan club who was trying to check on the tickets and was having the same (lack of) luck that I was having. Eventually, she walked me into the stadium through part of the backstage area and took me to the Diamond Circle, because no one had any idea what had happened to the tickets. I literally made it in with 5 minutes to spare. Thank goodness I got in! When the crowd made it's incredible display, I knew we were in for quite a show. No band could do anything less after something like that, and Jovi certainly didn't disappoint. Highlights for me were Dry County (which I'd last heard with Phil X on guitar and NEEDED to hear again with Richie), These Days and of course, Lie To Me. As Jon and Richie stood in the middle of the stage with Jon watching Richie's hands on his guitar, I knew we were in for some kind of special treat.

When Jon announced that it was Lie To Me, I thought of my friend from California who was in the DC somewhere. She's been wearing a Lie To Me tank to shows for 2 years, and she was only doing 2 shows in Europe. Because I got into the DC so late, I hadn't been able to look for her, but I knew she was there and had to be going nuts. Even after the re-start, Jon didn't get in a mood and seemed to enjoy the song as much as we did. It was one of those spontaneous, incredible concert moments that just happens.

This crowd was my favorite of the shows that I did in Europe. Everyone was in a gleeful, party mood and was totally into the music, but people weren't pushing and constantly trying to improve their position in the crowd. It was such a thrill to be part of that crowd. That beautifully organized display is something that I won't ever forget. Well done, Italy! Very well done!

Photobucket shrinks that panorama shot down so much, but you can kind of see what my view was like! It was absolutely spectacular!

EDIT - I forgot to mention the rain! After doing laps around the stadium in pursuit of my elusive ticket, I welcomed the rain to cool me off. It rained hard for awhile, but not for too long, and it was really just enough to add to the atmosphere. I didn't really want to have a show with constant rain while I was in Europe, but I had hoped for some at one show at least. I've heard so much about rainy shows there that I wanted that experience along with all the rest. Somehow Max even arranged just the right amount of rain along with everything else!
