I had such a great time at this show. When the Sebstage group decided not to make the long trip to Vienna, I wasn't willing to miss this show, so I broke away from the group for a few days. Thankfully, my solo travel went very smoothly. A friend from the States was staying at the same hotel in Vienna, and she and I set out for the stadium around 9:00 AM - certainly not early by European queuing standards, but early enough to eventually get us in the second row right between Jon and Richie. We had a great time in line that day meeting so many people (including Heidi) that we'd only "met" online before or had only met a few times at shows. I lost track of how many times the rain started and stopped, but thankfully, it was over by showtime!
The main set didn't break any new ground, but as many others have mentioned in this thread, a few of the standards were exceptionally well done on the night. It was the encore, though, that just blew us away. Thorn was a request from the 2 girls right in front of us. They actually made the sign during breaks in the rain as we sat in the stadium! I'm very glad that they made the sign, because this was just my second time hearing Thorn. WITW was also a request. That sign was just a couple of rows behind me and bit to my right. I could see what it said when Jon pointed to it, and couldn't believe that I was about to get the third song on my Bucket List!
All in all, a terrific show that I'm very glad I decided to travel to see. I was exhausted as I made the trip to the airport on Saturday morning so that I could rejoin the group in Brussels, but it was a very happy exhausted!
I'm thrilled with my pics from this show. I was close and had my new camera. It turned out to be a winning combination.
